A week after Law and Kid reconnected, they ran across the Strawhats. Luffy forces them onto the ship, joyful that his two friends ("NOT YOUR FRIENDS!") were still alive. Kid had been treating Law like the world revolved around him. He was very lovey dovey and affectionate with him and Law found himself enjoying it.

However, that was temporary and a week in, Kid began to revert back to his old ways. The affection he showed before all but vanished. Law felt his heart clench as he felt Kid pull back and away from him. He had gotten used to Kid's affection and he missed it, but he would never admit that.

Kid didn't want others to see him act like that, so he put up his walls again. Last thing he needed was people thinking he was weak for showing the person he cares about affection. He wasn't weak. Law knew that wasn't who he really was, right?

Law was afraid Kid was going to leave him. Didn't help that he noticed Kid eyeing Alexis. Had Kid grown tired of him? Did he want someone new? Did He do something? These were all questions going through his mind at once.

It felt ten times worse after the Strawhats decided to do regular entertainment nights. Alexis was volunteered to do her fire fan dance. Kid's eyes were glued to her the whole time, making comments about how hot she was during it. Law could see him drooling over her.

Afterwards, when it was just the two of them, Kid brought up adding Alexis to the mix. Law felt like someone had stabbed him through the heart. This was it. The beginning of the end of their relationship. Kid was ready for someone new. "I'm fine with just the two of us, Eustass-ya."

Kid grins at him. "Sure it's fine now, but just imagine if we add Freckles into the mix. It will be even more interesting. Don't you think Trafalgar? The possibilities!"

Law wasn't for it. He really thought Kid just wanted Alexis now and will throw him aside once he got her. Did Kid think he was an idiot?

"Last time I checked, Alexis-ya didn't like you. So I doubt she would agree to this." Law turned him down yet again.

Kid continued to try to convince Law for weeks. Law refused each time, trying to postpone the inevitable. Alexis was unaware this was going on between the two men. She was trying to avoid Kid as much as she could, especially after he started acting weirder than usual. Most of the time Law was hanging around Kid when he wasn't helping Chopper in the med bay. She didn't get to spend as much time as she would have wanted with her favorite raven haired man because of this.

Law put on a mask, acting as though he was just the same as before, but every time he was with Kid, he brought up Alexis and it felt like a new twist to the knife in his heart every time. "Eustass-ya, I don't want anyone, but you. I don't want to keep talking about this. Why do you keep pushing it?"

Kid looked over at Law and shrugs. "I don't know. Is it wrong that I want you both? You two are hot, smart, can kick my ass, and I like to think we have a connection since the three of us had met on Sabaody." Kid said looking away with a sigh. It really seemed Law didn't want to even entertain the idea. He only had one more trump card he could play. "I mean she seemed to really like you, and was constantly flirting with you before we got together in Wano."

"What? No she wasn't. You are delusional, Eustass-ya. Why would she be flirting with me?" Law scoffs. He would have noticed that, right? Surely.

Kid smirks. "Oh? Then why does she give you little pet names? Or sit in your lap back on Sabaody? She seems to be a whole lot happier when she is around you and wants to hang around you more than anyone else." He grins. "If she didn't like you, then why did she threaten to kill me if I ever hurt you after our first night together, at that little cafe?" He shrugs. "Looks to me like she likes you a lot."
