Sam Quint Jr, the son of Sam Quint, is a fisherman like his father on Amity Island and is when he learns that a kid named Alex Kitner has gotten killed in a shark attack, Sam Sr and his son offered to help kill the shark.
During this time, Sam Jr gets to meet Chief Brody and becomes friends with him in the process, same with Matt Hooper, an Oceanographer, who is determined like everyone else to bring the shark to justice.
When Brody's kid gets attacked, they finally go out on the Orca to take down the shark however they can.
