Joseph Andrews is a former soldier turned postman at the Leiden Post Office, but one day, his long time friend from the military, Violet Evergarden turns up, they have a very emotional reunion by hugging each other and Joseph almost crying.
After a while, Joseph tries to strike a conversation with Violet about what she's doing at the PO, but she becomes so immersed into becoming a Doll Service writer, Andrews starts to question whether she will become normal again.
Joseph would go with Violet to many events regarding a letter being written for clients and would start to fall for her, trying to help her find peace and become a normal girl again.
