The Karasuno team collectively held their breath. They watched Kageyama and Y/N continue their conversation. Both appeared oblivious to the palpable tension that had settled over the table.Daichi ever the diplomatic captain, cleared his throat. He gestured towards menu. "Alright team, let's focus on deciding what to order. I'm starving and I'm sure you all are too after that intense practice" he said, his tone light and encouraging.
The players reluctantly turned their attention to the menu. Their curiosity about Kageyama and Y/N's interaction still palpable. Hinata ever the enthusiastic one, began excitedly discussing the various dishes with Nishinoya. He shared his boundless energy serving as a welcome distraction.
Suga, sensing Tsukishima's discomfort leaned in and placed a gentle hand on his shoulder. "Don't worry, Tsukishima we're all here together. Let's just enjoy the meal and each other's company," he said his voice soft and reassuring.
Tsukishima tensed at the contact but gave Suga slight nod. His expression softened ever so slightly. He knew that the best thing to do was to simply ignore Kageyama and Y/N's presence. He had to focus on his teammates. As difficult as that may be it was the best approach.
As the team placed their orders and the food began to arrive, the atmosphere gradually relaxed. Conversations flowed. Laughter filled the air. The players' camaraderie was evident. As the Karasuno team began to gather their belongings and prepare to leave the restaurant Kageyama and Y/N suddenly looked up from their conversation. They seemingly noticed the group for the first time.
Kageyama's eyes widened slightly and he turned to Y/N, an apologetic expression on his face. "Oh uh, I didn't realize the team was here too." His voice was a bit sheepish
Y/N also seemed a bit flustered. They offered the team friendly smile. "I'm so sorry we didn't mean to ignore you all. We were, um quite engrossed in our conversation." A hint of blush crept onto their cheeks.
Daichi, ever the diplomatic captain stepped forward with welcoming smile. "Not to worry, Kageyama Y/N. We're just glad to see you both here." His tone was warm and reassuring.
Suga sensing the need to diffuse any lingering tension, chimed in. "Yeah it's great to see you two enjoying a meal together. We were just about to head out, but please feel free to join us if you'd like." He cast a pointed glance towards Tsukishima silently urging him to play nice.
Tsukishima had been trying to maintain a neutral expression. He couldn't help but tense up slightly at the suggestion. However, he knew better than to openly voice his objections. Especially with rest of the team present.
Kageyama looked over at Y/N. He was seeking their input. "Uh well, if it's not too much trouble we'd be happy to join you all," he said. There was a hint of uncertainty in his voice.
Y/N nodded in agreement. A grateful smile spread across their face. "That's very kind of you. We'd love to join you if it's alright with everyone," they said their gaze sweeping across the Karasuno players.
Hinata, ever the enthusiastic one immediately perked up. "Of course it's alright. The more, the merrier right?" he exclaimed, flashing a wide grin.
The Karasuno team sat in relative silence as they continued their meal. The tension from earlier still palpable in the air. Kageyama and Y/N seemingly oblivious to the group's discomfort, remained engrossed in their own conversation.
Suddenly Y/N let out small laugh. This caught the attention of the rest of the players. "And then the cat just sat there. Staring at me with the most judgmental look!" they exclaimed.
