Memory 5

Nihilo woke up in a warm comfortable bed in what looked to be room in a hospital. He looked down at his body as He felt an intense pain thought through his entire body.

His skin so badly burnt that most of his bones and muscle were exposed. most parts of his body were wrapped in bandages as some of them were becoming bloody.

Nihilo tried to move but it hurt so much as He lets out a grown of pain. He stopped when He heard footsteps and voices approaching his room.

Nihilo quickly closed his eyes and pretended to be still unconscious. As the door opened and the sound of Ace's voice says with a worried tone in his voice.

"Oh my gods, NIHILO! IS HE ALRIGHT?!" Nihilo felt Ace's hand touch his hand as He heard his father say to Ace.

"He is still alive but barely, and I want You to take care of him..." Ace sounds surprised to hear this and so did Nihilo.

He heard Ace say to Ferious with a worried tone in his voice. "T-Take care of him? Why?! I did what You and the council asked of me and..."

Ferious lit up a cigar as He told Ace. "You did and for that You made sure that Uncle of Yours didn't get sent to prison.

And Your ass weren't sent to the orphanage when You were just a boy. You being a watcher for him ever since childhood is a great blessing and You should be proud of it..."

Nihilo felt confused and wondered what his father was talking about. When Ace says to Ferious with a angry tone in his voice.

"PROUD!?! WHY SHOULD I BE PROUD OF LYING AND DECIVING HIM FOR YEARS! ALL BECAUSE YOU WANTED TO MAKE SURE HE STAYED IN HIS PLACE!

I THOUGHT MY JOB WAS FINISHED WHEN MY UNCLE'S CHAREGES WERE DISMISSED!" Ferious puffed out some smoke as He says to him.

"True, but now I need You to take care of him because He is special..." Ace sounded a bit confused as He said.

"Special? What do You mean special?" Ferious looks at him and says with a calm look on his face. "You do know the tale of how the four gods came to power right?"

Ace looks at him and says. "Yes, I remember... The four gods came to power when they slayed a demon that was threatening to destroy all of creation.

But what does that have to do with him?" Ferious put his cigar on a ash tray and says. "Well You see... The gods weren't the immortal gods that We know them today.

They were mortal men and women, until they were blessed by one of the beings of creation. And they were given their gifts with who they were in their hearts.

Be it bravery, kindness and so on. And do You want to know why they received those gifts? It was because they were chosen not because of their hearts but also their blood.

And Nihilo here is just like them, chosen to receive the divine gift to become a god..." Both Ace and Nihilo both felt surprised to hear this information.

Ace looks at him and says. "To... Become a god... Is that why his execution was stopped and his false charges dropped? And You knew that about him all along?"

Ferious looks at him and says. "Yes, And no, I didn't know about him being one of the chosen. For it was informed to the council while the execution took place.

Apparently some holy sister from the church were visiting the prison. And found his blood on the wall of his cell and saw the light that was coming from it.

And sent one of her apprentices to inform the council as soon as possible..."

He puffed out some more smoke and told Ace. " And burning and killing him at the stake would spell doom for us all. So it as only luck that it was discovered when it did before it became too late...
