I returned to my room to retrieve my phone-how forgetful of me. As I made my way back to the function, Noor's voice halted me.
"Oyeeeeee, kaha thi tu? Kabse dhoondh rahi hoon!" she exclaimed, approaching me while adjusting my hair.
("Hey, where were you? I've been looking for you for so long!")
"I went to get my phone. Ren and Ria are about to land, so I need to send someone to pick them up," I replied.
As we continued walking, I noticed Abhigyaan, Rithik, and Trisha standing together, offering me nervous smiles.
"What happened to you all?" I inquired as we approached them.
They remained silent, causing me to roll my eyes. "Forget it," I said, turning to Abhigyaan, who appeared uneasy.
"Rooh, meri baat sun, sach mein mereko nahi-" he began, but I interrupted him.
"Kya bol rahe hai? Pehle meri sun. Ren and Ria are about to land, so you and Rithik need to pick them up," I instructed.
Before he could respond, my eyes locked onto a familiar figure staring intently at me, piercing into my very soul.
Maan ....
My dream came true!!
As I stood there, my heart raced, and my breath caught in my throat. The man I had once loved, whose absence had haunted me for years, was now before me, his gaze piercing through to my very soul. Gone were the warmth and affection that used to light up his eyes; now, they held a cold, unreadable expression.
His face, once so familiar and full of emotion, was now a mask of indifference.
Instinctively, I clenched the edge of my dupatta, seeking some semblance of comfort as fear and anxiety surged within me.
