When Chao Yang woke up, Chao Huang was by her bedside. As Chao Yang's fingers moved and her eyes slowly opened, Chao Huang, filled with excitement, stood up.

Chao Yang slowly opened her eyes, only to meet a pair of red and bloodshot eyes. Her heart softened, and she asked in a warm voice, "How long has it been since I rested?"

Chao Huang didn't answer immediately. After carefully examining Chao Yang, she replied, "You've been in a coma for five days."

She had been in a coma for five days. Chao Huang must have been watching over her for the same duration, given the bloodshot eyes indicating her considerable fatigue.

Unable to suppress her emotions any longer, Chao Huang embraced Chao Yang and muttered, "You were not waking up. The physicians said there was no hope, and I really thought that you had left us…"

Chao Yang hesitated for a moment, then patted Chao Huang's back, "I'm fine now."

"Sister, what would I do if you were no longer here?" Chao Huang, in a daze, gazed directly into Chao Yang's eyes, their gazes locking firmly. They were so close that Chao Huang could see the porcelain-like texture of Chao Yang's face, even the fine hairs on her skin were visible.

Chao Yang said, "You are not a child. Even if I were to leave one day, you'll get used to it."

"You don't understand..." You don't understand what your absence would mean!

When Chao Yang was almost unable to wake up, Chao Huang was intensely panicked. She didn't see herself as someone who liked to depend on others, but unconsciously, she had become reliant on Chao Yang. If Chao Yang really left, she felt that life alone would be meaningless. This thought startled her, but the feeling was clear and tormented her until the moment Chao Yang opened her eyes, as if something had sprouted in her heart.

Chao Huang didn't want to keep dissecting her own feelings because the human heart is difficult to understand, and her own heart was even more so. But she couldn't help but ponder: how was Chao Yang different to her? Just how important was she to her?

However, just as she had not had time to figure it out, Chao Yang woke up, which made her bury those thoughts deep in her heart again. As long as Chao Yang was still around, she felt she didn't need to think too much, and that was enough.

"Alright, you go rest for a while and call Shuwen in," Chao Yang said, letting go of Chao Huang and nudging her gently.

Chao Huang blinked her stinging eyes. Seeing that Chao Yang was looking spirited and seemingly fine, she obediently nodded. Since the day Chao Yang fell into a coma, she had been anxiously watching over her, afraid that something unexpected might happen to her body and they would be unable to treat it in time. During these five days, she had truly become exhausted, her mind had even begun to blur.

Shuwen, upon hearing that Chao Yang had awakened, ran in, overjoyed. But seeing Chao Yang looking at her with the usual calmness broke her heart, and she went down on her knees, tears streaming down her face. Only she knew what she had been thinking when the physicians had said there was no hope for Chao Yang's recovery. She had already prepared herself; when Chao Yang passed away, she was determined to go down and keep her company. Having served Chao Yang for over a decade, wherever Chao Yang went, she would follow.

Chao Yang gently touched Shuwen's head and said, "I'm still alive, get up, stop crying."

Upon hearing Chao Yang's words and seeing her smiling face, Shuwen tried to hold back her sobs, but tears were streaming down her cheeks. "You are a woman of Yunqi. You leave sweat, not tears. How can you cry so easily?" Chao Yang scolded in a stern tone but with a gentle expression.
