Life is unpredictable, but such an erratic turn of events is rare.

Chao Huang had unknowingly fallen asleep and woke up in the Cloud Qi Imperial Palace, lying on her dragon bed. She skipped the return process, but she was far from happy. The palace was now under the control of Chao Yun, so returning there would be like walking into a tiger's mouth. What's worse, Chao Yang was beside her, in a comatose state, making her a vulnerable prey.

Looking outside, she noticed that it was already dawn, and it was time for the Empress to attend the morning court. Checking Chao Yang's breathing - steady and even, as if in a peaceful slumber - gave her some peace of mind.

Chao Huang gently laid Chao Yang down and covered her with a blanket, hesitating at the thought of using bedding that might have been used by others. She refused to let Chao Yang use anything that had been used by someone else. As she undressed, she spread her own clothes over the bed and covered Chao Yang with a blanket.

As footsteps approached the outer room, Chao Huang quickly hid behind the bed. She knew the room like the back of her hand and found an inconspicuous place to observe without being seen. Shortly after, she heard a voice similar to her own. "Go away. I need to rest for a while."

Soon there was only the sound of breathing in the room. "Counterfeit goods are indeed uncomfortable and do not like to be cared for at close quarters," Chao Huang thought. She grabbed a nearby porcelain bottle and smashed it on the fake empress's head.

The false empress was knocked unconscious before she could react.

Those outside had been instructed not to interfere unnecessarily, and when they heard the shattering sound, they did not dare to enter. It was known that the Empress had an irritable temper.

As Chao Huang thought about how to get rid of the impostor, she knew that she couldn't keep her here for long. She turned the person on the ground to reveal a face that bore some resemblance to her own. However, something was wrong. Crouching down, she felt the person's chin and confirmed it by pulling off a layer to reveal a mask underneath. Chao Huang scoffed at the crude deception - obviously, the impostor had no respect for her as the new empress and had resorted to such poor methods to deceive the court. Still, Chao Yun did not dare to take action in the palace. However, a direct confrontation would have been more effective than wearing a false face mask.

Under the mask, there was a decent looking face. Chao Huang stood up, pulled out a sword from the bed frame, and mercilessly carved a bloody cross on the person's face, adding to the horrifying spectacle.

Seeing that the person was about to wake up from the pain, Chao Huang grabbed the person's hair and slammed his head down hard, knocking her unconscious again. Hastily removing her own robe, even though the person's skin was light and her figure was good, Chao Huang was disgusted and quickly discarded the robe before turning her attention to the white matter left on the ground.

Despising the dress, Chao Huang decided not to wear it, opting for a simple undergarment instead. She threw the discarded dress at the person and proceeded to smash another blue and white porcelain bottle.

"Guards!" Chao Huang ordered.

The woman was then dragged out, and Chao Huang ordered her to be fed to the animals, citing her insolence in climbing onto the dragon bed as the reason. Considering the status of the empress and the appearance of the impostor, it was not surprising that a bold person would engage in such behavior. Therefore, Chao Yun had no intention of investigating the details.

Chao Yun had never expected Chao Huang to appear in the palace without alerting anyone, let alone in such a strategic location, leading to the imposter empress's quick demise.
