The Family Goddess of both the family was Shifted from her Mandir to their Homes, as it was a ritual. The atmosphere of both the house was full of joy as it was the first wedding in the new generation of their family. The cousins of bride and groom were extra happy as they all got to had different types of sweets without any restrictions.

(Mameyo is when the mother's brother gives gifts to bride)

20th November 1950,
9:00 am,
Gundala.

Everyone was ready and excited and was waiting for the groom to arrive in veranda so that they can start with the rituals. Bhavesh arrived in few mins wearing his wedding attire looking extra cute and charming.

They all went to the home temple where their goddess resides. The first cousin sister of Bhavesh came and did his tilak and aarti and gave him a dried coconut as her blessing. They all took the blessing of Ambe Maa.

The moment Bhavesh resided on a Mare (Female Horse) the dhol's started playing and all the family members and relatives started dancing. All were enjoying and dancing their heart out, doing phugdi and garbas. The dance continued for an hour and later all got into their respective cars and the bus arranged for barrati and Bhavesh was also shifted to Car with his parents.

It took them another 40 minute to reach Depa and they finally reached Dedhia's House at 10:00 am. Hema did the aarti of Bhavesh and then cousin sister of Jaya came with a silver kalesh placed on her head with a dried coconut in it and welcomed them. The cousin of Jaya was later gifted a gold ring from behalf of groom's family and the cousin who did Bhavesh's aarti before Barat was started was also gifted a gold ring from bride's family as a ritual.

Bhavesh was taken to the mandap which was situated in veranda of Dedhia's House and soon the pandit started mantras. Soon bride was called to the mandap. Jaya came wearing Panetar (traditional gujarati and kutchi wedding attire) while covering her face with an extra veil. Bhavesh was getting impatient as he wanted to see his bride's face but he couldn't as her face was covered from the veil. Here Jaya was getting irritated because of dozen jewellery on her and the heavy veil on her head.

Both Groom and Bride exchanged the garlands and sat on their respective seats.
(In Kutchi wedding there are only 4 pheras of which the pooja is been done by different family members.)

The 1st Phera was of Bride's Parents. They were seated beside Groom and Bride for the pooja. The kanyadaan was done first. Suresh and Hema were very emotional while doing this. He was only wishing for her daughter's happiness. They couldn't believe their little girl is getting married. Later groom and bride were asked to standup and circle the holy Fire with only 7 Steps which is called Saptapadi. Jaya took the lead of this Phera.

The 2nd Phera was of Bride's Brother. He had slight idea what is happening but he was for sure a bit emotional. He has always been very protective and possessive of his little sister. He was there to hold her hand while she learned walking. He used to feed her whenever she used to crawl around. He even learned to braid her hairs so that he can spend every morning and night with her. He used to sing lullaby with his parents to his little sister. He never wanted her to grow up so soon. He was hardly controlling his tears and by the end of pooja he was ready to run and hide somewhere so that he can cry.

The 3rd Phera was of Bride's Mama (Mother's Brother). He was happy that his niece is getting married in a nice family. With immense happiness he did the pooja and blessed the couple.

The 4th Phera was of Groom's Parents. Tara wrapped Gharchoda (a kind of Kutchi saree which is only wore by married woman's) around Jaya's shoulder and later they did the pooja. Giving their blessings to the couple.

After the Pheras Bhavesh was asked to tie Mangal sutra (nuptial chain) around Jaya's neck which he did with Tara's help. After that he was asked to fill Jaya's hairline with Sindhoor (vermillion) with the help of silver coin. While doing so Bhavesh faced a little bit difficulty and also, he couldn't see Jaya's hairline because of which not some but almost half the sindoor from him hand fell on Jaya's nose and cheek.

Jaya scrunched her nose and glared at her husband. After which Bhavesh was asked to put toe rings on Jaya's first toe of her both feet.

After all the rituals they were finally announced as Husband and Wife. They got up to take blessings from all the elder. After which the lunch was done.

The Vidaai was an emotional part. Jaya first went to her best friend also her to-be sister-in-law Deepti. Both hugged each other and cried they were best friends from birth. There was not a day spent without each other. Later Jaya hugged his brother who was by now bursting in tears. He patted her head just how he used to when she was a baby to lull her to sleep. Jaya clutched her mother's dupatta as she didn't want to leave her safe embrace. Hema was crying to let her go. Suresh also had few unshed tears in his eyes. He patted her head which resulted her to leave Hema and clutch to her father. After which both her grandparents hugged her and blessed her.

After sitting in Car Jaya was constantly looking at her family. She was crying while looking at them. Tara sat beside Jaya to console her. As Car started Jaya waved her hand budding bye to her Family.

The car ride back to Gundala was filled with light sobbing and later hiccups of Jaya. By the time they reached Gundala Jaya has stopped crying and now was looking at her new surroundings. Memorizing the new lanes of her now new Home.
