I looked at my watch and realized it was time to get to work. I wore a pair of black mom fit jeans, a white t-shirt, I slid on my white converses and put my hair up to a ponytail. I grabbed my bag and left.
One week left until the beginning of school.
I arrived at the store five minutes before my shift, I wore my vest and grabbed my book. I work at the register of a convenience store, sometimes it super busy or there are things that need to be stocked so I don't get to sit around much and there are times when there's nothing to do for the entire shift.
The time passed by fast, a few people walked in, and I rang their stuff and tried to make small talk. I hate talking to strangers, but it's part of my job, and I have to try and be friendly with the customers.
It was almost time to close, so I walked around the aisles, tidying up things and making sure everything was where it should be. I heard the door open and walked to the front to see who it was.
A young woman in sports attire walked in. She smiled at me, and I smiled back
After a few minutes, she walked up to the register and smiled at me again while leaving her stuff on the counter.
"Hello" she said, leaning on the counter. She looked cute.
"Hello Miss" I said with a smile as I started ringing her stuff.
She fixed her hair and helped me bag the items.
"That will be 30 dollars and twenty cents" She found the exact amount and handed it to me. Our fingers brushed as I took the money from her hand, and I looked down. She was really pretty.
She took the bags and turned to leave.
"Bye Miss, have a good night."
"Bye..." She looked at me. "What's your name again?"
"Isabella"
"Well, bye Isabella, have a good night as well" she said with a smirk while her eyes travelled on my body. I smiled and looked down as she made her way out of the door.
I hadn't seen her before, but then again, I don't go out as much, it's possible that she just moved into this neighbourhood or this town.
A few minutes later, I turned off the lights at the store and went into the back room, I made sure that everything was ready for tomorrow, grabbed my backpack, double checked that all the lights were off, locked the door and walked to my house.
I unlocked the door and walked in. The living room lights were on, and my mum was sitting on the couch.
"Isabella, is that you?"
"Yes mum, who else would it be?" I walked into the living room, and she had a bottle of wine in hand. "Are you drinking again?"
"You got a problem with that?" She gave me a threatening look, and I shook my head no. "Good, now go to your room, you are disrupting my alone time" I rolled my eyes and went to my room. I locked my door and lay on my bed. I put some music on and fell asleep pretty fast.
I woke up the next morning to my alarm clock. I rushed out of the bed and once again got ready for work. I wore comfy clothes since the morning shift is always busy. I wore my headphones and walked to work.
"Good morning, Isabella."
"Good morning, Mr. Williams." I smiled at my boss. He was really nice. I left my things and followed him. New items were arriving today, and he needed help carrying them inside. The van with the boxes arrived, and a dude started unloading them and leaving them in front of the door.
