Isabella’s POV
Saturday morning I went to work as usual, but I couldn’t focus, my mind was on Amy. In the middle of my shift Ms. Thompson walked in. She was wearing light blue jeans, a white t-shirt, a flannel shirt on top and white converse shoes, she had her hair up in a messy bun and she was holding a coffee. She was really pretty and I couldn’t help but look at her. She didn’t spare me a look and got lost behind one of the aisles.
I went back to thinking about Amy, she hasn’t told me what time she’s arriving. I wonder if she has changed, I haven’t seen her for two months. A lot can change in two months. I hope things between us will still be the same.
“Someone’s distracted” A familiar voice pulled me out of my thoughts. She was smiling and leaning on the counter.
“Sorry” I smiled and started ringing her stuff. She had a bottle of vodka among other stuff. “I need to see an ID miss” I told her playfully and she rolled her eyes at me amused.
“Come on Isabella, you know I’m old enough.”
“Do I? You certainly don’t look old enough” She was about to answer when someone yelling interrupted us. I found myself into Amy’s hug.
“I missed you so much” She squealed while squeezing the air out me.
“I missed you too” We remained hugged for a while until Ms. Thompson cleared her throat.
“I’m sorry Ms.” Amy said pulling away and straightening her clothes. She walked away towards the entrance.
“So, about that ID…” I smirked.
“Fine” She groaned and gave it to me. She kept her fingers on her personal information and showed me just the date of birth.
“Nineteen ninety nine?” I asked surprised.
“Yes”
“You are only twenty-three?” I asked as I started bagging her stuff.
“Yes Isabella” She chuckled.
“Fuck”
“Don’t cuss in front of me, I’m still your teacher”
“I’m sorry Ms. Thompson” I mocked her. “It’s twenty four thirty” She paid and I handed her the bags. She turned to leave but Amy stopped her.
“I’m sorry, but are you an actual teacher?”
“Yeah?”
“Respectfully, if you were my teacher I would never skip” Amy said in a flirtatious tone and I rolled my eyes. She can be so stupid sometimes.
Ms. Thompson eyed her and smirked.
“Good to know”
“I’m Amy by the way, Izzy’s best friend”
“Yeah, I kind of figured” She chuckled “Nice to meet you Amy” She winked at her and Amy bit her bottom lip. She left, leaving me and Amy alone.
“Holy shit she’s hot” Amy whisper-yelled.
“I know, but you didn’t have to flirt with her”
“She flirted back though”
“I don’t think she’s queer dude”
“Are you kidding me? Short nails, flannel shirt, rings… what else do you need?”
“These are just stereotypes.”
“Sure” She rolled her eyes. She stayed with me till the end of the shift and then we went to her house. She told me about college and all the new people she met and I told her about my shitty life, the conversation ended back to Ms. Thompson.
“You seemed comfortable with her”
“We’ve been talking, I’ve run into her at the park a couple times”
“She’s hot.”
“You are an idiot.”
“What? Don’t you agree?”
“She’s cute, I guess.” I shrugged.
“Make a move on her.”
“Are you stupid?”
“Oh come on, at least flirt with her.”
“It’s official, you’ve lost your mind.” She giggled.
“Oh…” She trailed off. “Riley is at the same college as me.”
“What?”
“Yeah, I forgot to tell you.”
“Hope she fails all her classes.”
Riley is my ex. She’s the first girl I went out with. I had a boyfriend before her but it was only for a few months and then I realized I was gay and broke up with him. Riley and I met on my first year at the school and dated for a year, she was popular and I was surprised when she asked me out.
We had so much fun together, we went on dates all the time and spent a lot of time together. It would have been the perfect first relationship if she didn’t break up with me on my birthday, at my birthday party, in front of many of our classmates.
It made my life hell.
I already was an outsider but after that my social life basically went to hell. There were videos of the whole incident and me crying and everyone in school saw it.
A while after, Riley joined Emily’s squad. She never took part in the bullying, at least not actively, but hanging out with her was bad enough for me.
“Come on, enough with the long face.” She slapped my thigh. “Let’s get ready, we are going out tonight”
“At the usual?”
“Duh, it’s the only one that let’s us in anyway” It was a shitty club that attracted a lot of men and weird dudes, but it was the only one that would let us in.I wore a short black leather skirt and a black crop top with my white air forces, while Amy wore a pair of black leather pants with a brassiere and also white air forces. We styled our hair and we got our make up done. We decided to get a cab because we both knew we would get drunk.
We got to the club around 12.3 and there was a line. We went to the guy at the door and while adjusting or tops we asked him if by any chance we could get in because it’s cold out. He let us in. That’s the thing about being a woman, men constantly sexualize you so why not use it to your advantage.
Amy got us a bottle and I looked at her surprised.
“It’s safer and if we want to get drunk, it’s cheaper.” She was right. We started drinking immediately. We were surrounded by creepy dudes and the music wasn’t great, so the only thing we could do was drink.
After three or four drinks we saw a group of girls and approached them, we talked to them a little and joined their group. We weren’t looking for company, we just wanted to avoid the creepy dudes.
“Bro how many drinks have you had?”
“Four, you?”
“Three. How the hell did you get ahead of me?”
“Well, the first three don’t count, they just turn me into a normal person, so technically I’m on my first one” She chuckled and we got to dancing. I poured my self one more drink and I was starting to feel dizzy and euphoric. We swayed to the rhythm of the music and Amy decided it was a good idea to pour me one more drink.
The idiot I am I drunk it.
After a while I felt awful, I needed to sit down and everything was spinning around me.
“Amy, I don’t feel well” I told her leaning onto her.
“Oh shit, uh let’s go got you some water and then go outside ok?”
“Ok” I was stumbling right and left, trying to get to the bar.
“A water” I said as we got there.
“Isabella?” A familiar voice asked and I gulped and turned to look at her.
“Hey Miss” I said with a fake smile, trying to not sound too drunk.
“Hey Iz…Oh shit” Amy said approaching us. I took the water and drank a little.
“You two shouldn’t be here” She scolded us.
"We were just leaving” Amy said, but before we could walk away, a guy approached us.
“Hey pretty ladies, want a drink? It’s on me” He winked.
“No thanks, you can go” Ms. Thompson stood up and walked to our side. She was wearing a tight white crop top and a white pair of oversized jeans.
“Maybe your friends want one, a kiss too” He said walking closer and she put her hand stopping him.
“They don’t, now leave” She said sternly
“Make me” He said walking closer to her. He tried to grab her and she pushed him.
“Alex, get him out of here” She said to the bartender and he called someone that escorted him out. “Did you serve these two?” She asked him pointing at us.
“I think so, they come often” He smiled at us. “Or at least they used to, I hadn’t seen them in a while”
“Jeez Alex they are underage”
“Boss says it’s okay” He shrugged.
“We should get going” I said and tried to walk away but I stumbled and fell onto her. She held me tightly and I turned to look at her. “I’m sorry”
“It’s okay, I’ll help you out” She cleared the way for us and held me by the waist as we were walking, so I wouldn’t fall.
When we got out I leaned against the wall and closed my eyes. I felt awful.
“Are you ok?” Amy asked, worried.
“I’m fine” I opened my eyes and looked at both of them. I checked out Ms. Thompson one more time. “This outfit suits you, you look great” I told her and she tried to hide a smile.
“Thank you”
“I’ll go call a cab” Amy said awkwardly.
“I can give you a ride if you want” Ms. Thompson offered and we agreed. She grabbed me by my waist again and led us to her car. She helped me in. “How are you feeling?” She asked me.
“Awful”
“How much did you have to drink?”
“I think six drinks” She gasped.
“And you?” She asked Amy
“Four”
“Jeez, where am I taking you?”
We gave her my address and she took us there, she didn’t say anything else for the rest of the drive. She pulled over and came to my side to help me out.
“Thank you, you didn’t have to” She smiled at me and followed us to the door.
“Are you two going to be ok?”
“Yes, don’t worry I’ll take care of Izzy” Amy said with a smug smile and she rolled her eyes.
“Ok, Ms. Evans, we’ll discuss this on Monday” She said in a strict tone. We got in the house and went in my room, we laid on the bed and fell asleep immediately.A/N: Sorry for the late update, I've been working a lot and I've been a little sick and I just haven't had the energy to post sooner, I promise to try and update more regularly from now on.
