Ms. Thompson’s POV

My mood didn’t improve for the rest of the week. I couldn’t stop worrying about my mum and thinking about my best friend.

During the weekend, I hang out with Alex and Joey, they were both bartenders, so hanging out with them meant I’d be at the bar while they worked. I didn’t really mind, sometimes I’d meet a cute girl and get her number.

I wasn’t too big on one-night stands but once in a while I would give in. Especially if the girl was hot. My previous girlfriend and I met that way. After our breakup, I knew I couldn’t be in a relationship again, no matter how much I wanted to.

On Sunday I did end up meeting a cutie name Maya. We were flirting when another girl approached us. I knew her, she was a known player and the female equivalent of a fuckboy.

“Hey” She greeted me.

“Hi.” I gave her a fake smile.

“I’m not bothering, am I?” She smirked and eyed Maya.

“Actually…” I didn’t get to finish.

“No, we were just chatting.” Maya said and turned to look at her. I rolled my eyes and smiled.

“I’m Eve.” She introduced herself to the girl.

“Maya.”

“Well, nice to meet you, Maya. Are you new in town?”

“Yeah actually, I moved here a week ago.”

“I figured, there was no way I would have missed someone as pretty as you.”

I fake gagged and walked away. I’ve seen porn movies with better pick up lines.

I sat with Joey for a while and then drove home, since I had work the next morning. I can’t believe I didn’t get Maya’s number. She was so cute.

I went to bed frustrated and sadly that’s the mood that I kept for the rest of the week. By Tuesday, I was already done dealing with the shit the students did.

On Wednesday, I was so fed up with everything that I ended up snapping at Isabella’s class. I was so done with being the nice teacher, they obviously don’t appreciate it or respect it.

I went by the mini market a couple of times during the week, since I went running every day, but I didn’t talk to Isabella. I wasn’t in the mood for small talk, plus I knew that she would probably try to avoid talking.

Ann hadn’t been answering my calls. She had only texted me like 5 times in the one and a half week she was gone. I was so worried about her.

Isabelle’s POV

The rest of the week went by the same way, except it felt way more exhausting. The classes were tougher, and I was struggling balancing work with school. I managed to successfully avoid Emily all week.

The next week was exactly the same, except that mum started staying at her boyfriend’s house.

On Wednesday kids started misbehaving in Ms. Thompson’s class and she snapped at them. Ever since she became stricter. She passed by the store a couple times, but we didn’t talk, she seemed troubled so we just exchanged a hi.

I was barely holding myself together. I really needed a break. On Thursday I had to work overtime, which made me go home at twelve and I didn’t go to sleep until 2. The next morning, I woke up at six thirty to get ready and walked to school. I was tired and I just wanted to go home and sleep, but I still had to go to work after school. History and Math went by fast, although I almost fell asleep on my desk. During lunch break I went to my locker to get my lunch but unfortunately, I run into Emily.
