Isabella’s POV
I felt a nudge on my arm. I opened my eyes and saw Amy looking at me. She seemed worried.
“Are you okay?”
“No.” I groaned and closed my eyes again. “Please close the blinds.” I whined.
I heard her moving around the room. I opened my eyes and the room was dark. Amy was standing next to the bed.
“I feel sick.” I groaned.
“Here” She handed me a bucket and I sat up, hugging it. She passed me a water bottle but I didn’t feel like drinking water. I kept thinking what Ms. Thompson told me, I hope she doesn’t get me in too much trouble. I wasn’t expecting her to hang out at such place.
Amy sat next to me and rubbed circles on my back.
“How do you not have a hungover?” I whined.
“College parties. I’ve built up tolerance babe.”
“Ugh, I can’t wait to finish high school. It sucks that I’m a year behind.”
“I know, but you have a better chance of getting into a good college.”
“It’s not like we can afford it. I don’t make enough to pay for housing, bills and food and if there are tuition fees well… I’m fucked.” I shrugged.
“The local college is pretty good Iz.”
“Is it?”
“Yes, I’ve done my research, it’s free and you won’t have to pay for housing.”
“I’ll look into it.”
“You should. It’s not like you to give up.” If she know how tough things have been without her.
I closed my eyes and leaned my head on her shoulder. My stomach and head were killing me and I felt sick. The bell rang and Amy got up to open the door. She came back with two drinks and handed me one.
“I appreciate it, but I don’t think I can drink coffee right now, my stomach is upset”
“Good, because it’s ginger tea, it’s going to help with all the nausea.” I took a sip and scrunched my nose, it tasted weird. “Drink some water and lay down, I’ll go make us something to eat” I nodded.
I sipped on the tea she brought me as I heard her moving into the kitchen.
As I was done with the tea I put it on my bedside table and laid on the bed, I closed my eyes and tried to convince myself that I felt fine.
I must have fallen asleep because Amy woke me up.
“Food’s ready” I slowly got up and followed her. I was still lightheaded and my stomach hurt, but the headache wasn’t as intense. She served us two plates of pasta.
“Thanks” I hugged her. I didn’t feel like eating but I tried to, Amy forced me to drink water and when we were done she gave me an ibuprofen. “How do you know exactly what to do?”
“I’ve been in college for two months, I know how to prevent and to cure a hungover” she chuckled. “Now, how about you go take a shower and make yourself presentable so we can go for a walk?”
“Sure” I took a quick shower and put my hair up to a ponytail, I wore a pair of black sweatpants and a white oversized t-shirt with my white air forces, and we left. We walked towards the park, Amy had taken my water bottle with her and she kept telling me to drink water.
We sat down on the grass at my usual spot and talked. We were laughing and joking around when out of nowhere a dog jumped on my lap and started licking my face, but it wasn’t just any dog. I turned my head and saw Ms. Thompson running towards us. Oreo was still trying to lick my face.
