Two days later I received a letter from Malcolm Alfred Davison:

Dear Arianna and Severus,

I received a letter from the Rookwood family, Deirdre Rookwood to be specific. She stated that you have abducted her child that had run away three years ago. She said you threatened her life in Florean Fortescue's ice cream shop and are completely out of control and insane.

When I responded to the facts of her tossing the minor child out and snapping her wand for Werewolfism. Her response was that she had no idea what I was talking about.

We are pressing charges through the Office of MLE, for negligence and child endangerment. If nothing more it will be accidently leak to the papers about them. PLEASE BURN THIS LETTER.

In the matter of Dumbledore's response, it is a bit muddy. He stated that the child was enrolled three years ago and her grades were average. As far as her not returning from Christmas leave, there was no report filed for some strange reason. He said he remembers filing and inquiry to the family and the Ministry was notified in his records. We have no record of this and it seems that it may have been removed and tampered with from the inside. I am personally investigating who was in charge at the time and who all had access to the records to remove them.I have names already and will have them brought in for questioning. If I have to charge them and fire them, then so be it. I will notify you of what happens next.

I showed and let Severus and Gen read the letter before I destroyed it.

Amazing how paying off officials is the same as in any culture. What bothers me is how those with wealth have easy access to corruption. But like they say, money talks and bullshit walks.

Gen said, "I would bet my parents paid someone in records to misplace or destroy the file."

I said,"I'm sure you're right. I am so sorry they were able to do that to you. It seems the Ministry is not very secure, if you ask me. They should have better security measures, you would think."

"Arianna love, it is how it's always been here. It's about status, wealth and influence." Severus said in a bland tone.

"I think that maybe times will be changing. I won't allow anyone to run over my family while trying to right wrongs or doing the right thing. I guess we will see what's to come." I sighed.

The trials were starting three days from now, and I sent a letter to Augusta Longbottom to ask if she had been notified. When she messaged back, she said no she hadn't been contacted. She said she would write a letter to Malcolm Alfred Davison herself about it and would be going to trial with me, because she was a witness for the prosecution also. She said she wants them incarcerated for what they did to both of us. Peculiar how she was a victim and not listed on the charges against the death eaters. What a day for noticing corruption.

The day of the trials finally arrived. Severus and Augusta were joining me at the Ministry.

When we arrived, I and Augusta were taken to separate rooms for entering our witness statements, same as last time. Then we joined Severus in the courtroom on the benches. I sat next to him and held his hand.
