Chapter 50

Over the next couple months, I contacted a land assessor at the Ministry and had him find me a parcel of land to build my public clinic on. He said a couple of businesses side by side at the end of Diagon Alley, away from the more busy business district we're up for sale. I purchased it and got the builders to combine the buildings and put an expansion charm on the interior for offices and exam rooms. I contacted Healer Carter, the healer that helped me with Harry, to help me plan a free clinic.

She and I sat down and brainstormed ideas. We decided on an internal apothecary, vaccine administration area, and a general health care area. This was going to be great. I told Healer Gina Carter about not having enough truly trusted healers to volunteer to do this and bring help to the people without snobbery. She said she had a few friends that were in different fields of the medical profession, like potions, healer assistants, and full healers. I asked her if she wanted a full time job with better pay than she gets or a partnership down the road. I said eventually I wanted to give monthly suppression werewolfism potions for free to everyone who wants them up to three days before a full moon at the clinic.

I told her, I also wanted to set up a magical children's orphanage that was specialized with teachers to educate in primary, a healer, care givers, and cooks. I wanted it geared to help care for these children and babies that are alone, lost or abandoned. I needed good magical people of moral conscience to help with these things. I was willing to employ at very competitive salaries if the persons were qualified to deal with children and not be cruel. I wanted these kids off the streets and safe. I would even pay to get these children into Hogwarts and secure essential items they would need to attend there.

Healer Carter said I was a very ambitious person and she said it could start to change lives, but it would be expensive. I told her that was the point, change. I said what use is money if you can't do good with it and save people.

Gen had her birthday and wanted Bill, Percy and Charlie over for her birthday. We were enrolling her in school in September for her fifth year so she could study and do her OWLS. She was a year behind, but she was happy with it and looked forward to making new friends. Harry wasn't too happy because he was quite close to Gen being his sister. We sent her off completely prepared with everything she would ever need and got her her own owl and kitten kneazle to take care of. She told us to write to us and tell us how everything goes.

By the beginning of November, my belly was showing at four months pregnant. It was great because the vomiting stopped and I could hold down food now. I was practically living on potions Severus made for me to keep healthy through it all. He is the best husband and father. He rubs my belly with lotion every night before we go to sleep. I told him when I am big as a house he'll have more territory to cover.

Gen was officially, without a symptom or side effect, free as of a year of werewolfism. Remus' one year anniversary is February with the same. My yearly suppression werewolfism potion has been a success but they may change on December's full moon. I told them both how bad I feel for them to go through the pain but I would give them the cure like promised afterwards for helping me so much. They said it was ok because they trusted me and it was worth it to be cured forever.

Time passed quickly. On March 12th, 1986, I gave birth to a brownish black haired blue eyed baby boy. We named him Sabastian Severus Snape. I know his initials are 'S.S.S'. He was Such a cute baby. Severus won't put him down. He even sings to him when he thinks nobody is around. He is going to be a doting father. I'm so happy. Harry was ecstatic because he got a little brother to teach and play with. I told him it will be a while for him to walk because he needed to grow and be taken care of. Gen got a visit from Severus with Sebastian, so she could see her baby brother. She thought he was so cute and couldn't wait to see how much he's going to grow by summer.

The clinic and the orphanage are doing well. I had to fire and rehire a few people to get the right type of people in the positions, but I visited once a week at both places and never let them know when I would stay or what day. I wanted to catch anything inappropriate being done. So far in the last month it has been peaceful. I even offered Molly Weasley a job whenever she wanted it to help me manage the orphanage. She declined but appreciated that I held her in such high regard. I told her that when she has the children manageable at a certain age, all she needs to do is ask.

Healer Gina Carter was the best person for the job of Administrator. We both tightly watch over everything. Now that the baby is here it will be a lot on my plate but the potions are selling like wildfire and I won't be making any until I have more time. Clive said the company is really happy doing the distribution and manufacturing of the potions all over the world.

My four patients are all cured and everyone but Gen is working steady, but I guess her studies are working too. I got them all off the registry as soon as my cure went to market after the test trials were done.

Albus Dumbledore pissed off the governor's by trying to have them get rid of me. As a 28% funder of the school. They made him step down and put Minerva McGonagall as Headmistress and Sirius Black, of all people, took the Transfigurations teaching position.

So, this is how my life began the minute I walked through that portal in the woods by the bank. I love my magical life and got to change and save people from the tragedy I could prevent. I don't know what the future holds but the here and now is wonderful.
