The blood drained out of my body. My paw pads went cold. Heart pounding in my ears, I hissed "Run!" We booked it across the Snowflake, and we all leaped onto a platform. A disgusting, rank smell blocked all my senses. I could even taste it. As the wolves barked insults at me, I spat more back. A wolf that looked like their leader howled and they ran away.

"A lynx has no leader..."

"We won, and you lost!" I sang.

They knew it too, but they tried to hide it. The white-furred wolf-the one that had just howled, turned around and growled at me. I imitated him, and he went back into his cave. Wish was shaking. "Mom?" she mewed softly.

I turned around.

"What's going on?"

"SPARKI!"

The wolves had taken her while I was making fun of them!

"It's all my fault..." I cried.

Cream had a sympathetic look on her face.

"It's ok, Mom. Why don't we head to their den and ask them where she is?"

I nodded and we headed to the dark cave. I hissed and the white-furred wolf came out.

"What do you want?" he barked.

I tried to look past him.

"We don't want any trouble. I just want my cub back."

He smiled. I didn't trust it.

"She's already long gone, lynx. I wouldn't look for her."

I hissed at him and ran into the cave.

"Sparki!" I spat. "Where are you?"

I tripped over something.

"What the-Sparki!"

It was a small, cold, ginger-furred body, but somehow, it wasn't bleeding.

"No. No. No!" I hissed.

I picked her body up by the scruff and came out of the cave. Starfall's eyes grew big. Cream burst into tears. Wish just looked down and shook her head. The wolf laughed. "I told you." He yipped.

I hissed at him.

"You can have one of our pups!" he barked as I trod off.

"I want my own cub...."

I heard a crack from behind me. I didn't give it any thought. We kept walking. I saw a rabbit and as soon as I saw it, its smell flooded my nose. I chased after it.

My cub's shrill cry scared me to death.
