Chapter 3

I looked down at the newly born cubs.

"Mama?" one said.

It was black.

"I'll name you Starfall," I said to the jet black cub.

A ginger one was pawing at my tail.

"I'll name you...Sparki."

The ginger one shot her face at me.

"Sparki?" she said.

"I like it!!"

I laughed to myself as Sparki went back to pawing at my tail. An innocent-looking white cub was sleeping.

"I'll name you...Cream."

"And the last cub."

A shy-looking brown cub was looking out to the world.

"I'll name you..."

The brown cub shot her head back to face me.

"Wish."

The brown cub smiled and went back to looking outside. I yawned as Sparki scratched my tail by accident. I meowed softly and she looked at me with a sorry look on her face. I quickly smiled at her and her face lit up, so she went back to pawing at my tail. That would keep her busy for hours. Wish was watching an eagle soar through the clouds. I didn't give it a second thought.

A shrill shriek shattered the peace.

"Everyone, stay close to me!" I yowled.

Cream jolted up as Starfall stepped on her tail. Wish was still watching the eagle dive closer and closer to her.

"WISH!" I spat.

She shot her head to face me and booked it toward me.

She had just made it.
