𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗵𝗼𝗽𝗲𝘀 for improvement, the duo had resumed their silent treatment, the tension between them now more palpable than ever. It was as if the air around them had thickened, making every interaction strained and uncomfortable.

The awkwardness was almost unbearable, a constant reminder of the unresolved issues that lay between them. It felt heavier than before, like a storm cloud hanging over their heads, ready to burst at any moment.

"And you waited two weeks to tell us?!" Mina whispered indignantly, trying to keep her voice down.

(Y/n) had just finished sharing with her two best friends about the unexpected compliment Katsuki had given her after karaoke night. She described every detail; from the way he hesitated before speaking to the surprising warmth in his voice.

That situation was so shocking that sometimes, (Y/n) wondered if she had imagined it.

"Fuck that, he had the audacity to ignore you.. again, after saying that?" Kyoka exclaimed, her voice rising above Mina's.

"Shh! I'm just telling you what happened. I don't know what it means," (Y/n) replied.

Kyoka's frustration mirrored Mina's, evident in the crease of her brow and the tightness in her voice. "(Y/n), you can't keep letting him mess with your head like this. It's not fair to you," she added, her concern palpable.

Mina nodded in agreement, her eyes fixed on (Y/n) with a mix of empathy and frustration. "Yeah, you deserve better than someone who can't even be straightforward," she said, her voice a soft but firm reassurance.

(Y/n) sighed, feeling the weight of their words sink in. "I know," she murmured, her gaze briefly drifting to the ground before meeting her friends' supportive expressions. "I just wish things weren't so complicated. I mean, communication shouldn't be this hard," she groaned in frustration.

Mina nodded sympathetically. "Maybe it's time to confront him about it directly. Clear the air once and for all," she suggested, her voice gentle yet encouraging.

"No, no, no, no, and no," (Y/n) shook her head. "He made it clear he doesn't want to be friends. It wasn't the nicest way, but he tried to let me down gently."

Mina groaned, "Just do it already! I need ideas for my story, and this would've been perfect! Imagine it, the girl and boy who were once inseparable best friends, suddenly grow distant, only to reconcile in the end!"

Mina, the ever-hopeless romantic, had begun exploring an interest in writing stories during her second year at Yuuei.

"Not everything in our lives has to be material for your stories, Mina," Kyoka laughed.

"Just use your relationship with Eijirou for inspiration. Isn't that good enough?" (Y/n) rolled her eyes playfully.

"But my relationship with Eijirou is expected. Yours, which needs hell of a work by the way, is unpredictable!" Mina teased, her tone light despite the underlying seriousness of the conversation.

(Y/n) chuckled softly, appreciating Mina's attempt to lighten the mood. "Yeah, I guess unpredictable is one way to put it," she admitted with a wry smile. "You know Katsuki and I never dated right? So, there was never a relationship."

Kyoka nodded thoughtfully. "Yeah, that's why him ignoring you is so weird," she stated. "If you were dating, he would've at least broken things off or talked about it. But you two were really close! Why would he ignore you out of nowhere? You understand him better than anyone."
