[the next morning]

"Jayden. Prissy You're going to be late"

Gloria called her two kids as she zipped their lunch bags.
Jayden came down a few minutes after and walked towards her.
He kissed her cheeks and greater her

" Good morning mom "

He said with a smile. Gloria smiled back and placed the two lunch bags on the dinning table.

"Good morning Jay. Don't you look dashing..."

Gloria said taking off her apron. She hung it on the chair.
Jayden smiled. He wore a black hoodie over a pair of blue jeans then paired it with blue jordan sneakers.
He had neatly combed his curly black hair and had his usual signature smile on.

" Thanks mom"

They heard footsteps approaching and when Gloria saw her daughter, she too one of the lunch bags and walked towards her. Meanwhile Jayden just started at her. There was this emotion in his eyes that left as soon as it appeared.

Prissy closed her bag and was about to walk out when her mom suddenly appeared in front of her holding a black lunch bag.

"You ready honey? Take this and let me get my keys"

Prissy looked confused.

"What's in this?" She asked not making any attempt to take the bag.

After last night, Gloria stayed up thinking about things and she realized she hasn't been a good mother to her daughter for years. After her husband left... She focused more on work instead of being a loving mother so she decided to make up for all those years and what better way to start than to prepare a delicious lunch.

"Your lunch. I know I haven't been a good mother to you dear. And I figured that if i-"

"You think a meal is good enough to make up for ten years of not being a mother to me?.."

She pat rudely to her mother. Without bothering to take the food, she walked past her leaving Gloria standing there. Jayden, who has heard and seen everything couldn't help but feel bad for her.

He took the lunch bag from her and said with a really comforting smile...

"I'll take that mom. Don't worry, she's just mad. She'll eat when she's okay "

Gloria just smiled a bit. A really sad smile then patted Jayden's back.

"Go to the car and lemme get my keys alright?"

Jayden nodded and did as she was told.

Arriving at school, Prissy got down before her mom could say anything to her and walked past the entrance. Students couldn't help but glance at her. Some looked at her in spite while others admired her. She was a sight to behold. But no one dared to approach her.

"Aaaah Prissy, you won't believe what just happened"

Anna run towards her and almost crashed into Prissy,but luckily, Prissy caught hold of her shoulders before Anna could hit her.

"Hey careful Anna...."

Prissy said. Behind Anna, Merillin slowly walked towards them too.

" Something huuugeee just happened aahhh "

Prissy looked at Merillin questionably.
Merillin sighed and said with no interest in her voice

" She's overreacting coz Matt asked me if I would be free this afternoon"

A frown instantly made it's way on Prissy's face

" Matt. You mean Matt Kay? The soccer teams captain?"

Merillin nodded.

" And you should have seen the way he looked at her"

Anna added. Amongst the three, Anna was the most jolly and talkertive one. It's like she's the light in May and Prissy's boring world.

"She 'claims' she had some kind of.....love in his eyes" she said in a disgusted way

The way Merillin said it made Prissy chuckle.

" Well,Matt looks at everyone that way, doesn't he"

Anna pouted but before she could say anything else,she gasped at something behind Prissy.

"Oh my goodness...."

Merillin's attention also fell on something behind Prissy and her expression change to surprise.

"What...?"

Prissy asked but they were more focused on what was behind her?

" What could possibly ma-......."

She trailed off ash she turned and was bashed at what she saw....
