Her stomach rumbled the minute she finished saying that and she suddenly turned quiet.

Her face turned red in embarrassment.

I wanted to but I couldn't stop the chuckle that erupted from my lips.

"I'll go start it..."

I said to her then entered the kitchen.
I saw the apron which hung at the side of the wall and took it. I worked it and grabbed a pan. Walking to the sink,I opened the tap and allowed the water to pour in the pan.

I turned and saw that Prissy had walked into the kitchen.

"You can sit in the living room... I'll do this quickly"

I said to her waking to where the stove was. But instead of leaving, she opened the fridge and took out some eggs and carrots. She closed it and placed it on the kitchen aisle.

" I'll help. Not because I want to help you tho, because it'll be faster."

She said. And I just smiled. This is good.i thought to myself and soon we both stared preparing dinner. She chopped the veggies while I fried the eggs.

I learnt to cook from a lady from the philippines when I was just thirteen. She'd come to the house where I was with my foster care parents and the other foster kids. She'd teach us how to cook and other educational stuff. Amongst everyone I had known back then, she was the nicest.
Anytime baked cookies for her bakery shop, she'd call me to come and have some.
I smiled recalling those memories.

"Aaaa.."

I heard Prissy's voice and immediately stopped what I was doing. She stood by the sink and had an annoyed expression on. I looked and noticed the upper part of her dress was wet. Seems I'm not the only thing that annoys her.

Cleaning my hand, I walked towards her unknotting my apron.

She looked at me as I took off my apron and handed it to her.

"No need. I'm fine"

She said. She tried cleaning the wet part with a tissue.

" Stop being stubborn now will you.."

Taking a step closer to her,I raised the apron and place it over her neck.

"Seriously....I don't need it"

She tried removing it but I place my hand ov her shoulders to stop her from removing it.

" Stay still..."

I said and she finally did.

I searched for the strings at the side of the apron and securely tied it around her waist.i didn't realize just how close I got till I realized she wasn't breathing.

Because I had to tie it behind her,I had leaned really close...so close that I could smell the scent of her shampoo wafting into my nose. My nose was so close to her swan like neck and the smell drew me even closer till the tip of my nose touched her neck. My hand which held the string stiffened.

She was trapped between my two arms. Before I knew...I was pushed back with so much force that I instantly let go of the strings and almost fell on the floor.
But lucky enough ,I manage to balance  myself before I could hit the ground.

"...i-i'll tie it myself"
