Chapter 4:Home

To say they were shocked was a complete understatement. Anna just stared at Prissy with her mouth agape.
Meanwhile Merillin was still trying to process what she just heard.

'wait... Brother? Tf.... '

Prissy chuckled seeing their shocked expression. She placed her finger on Anna's chin and closed her mouth.

"Don't look so shocked girls"

Merillin was the first to regain her composure and looked at Prissy with a questioning look.

"W-wh-... Huh... Y-your.... Brother!!!?"

Anna could only stammer. For as long as she has know Prissy, she knows Prissy is an only child. So where from this brother?Unless...

Anna gasped

"Don't tell me.... He's your father's bastard son who has come to take ownership of your father's properties"...

Prissy and Merillin could only stare at her blankly. Merillin facepalmed inwardly while Prissy.....

"How stupid can you get Anna....."
Merillin shook her head tiredly

" What...!!?"

Prissy just hung her bag and said to them..

" I gotta go now. I'll see you tomorrow alright?"

Merillin and Anna just nodded and hugged her and bade farewell.

[In the car]

Principal Gloria was in her car when the car's door opened and Prissy got inside. She closed the door with a loud bang and threw her bag on the seat next to her. She was so focused on doing something on her phone and didn't bother to say anything to her mom.

A few minutes later Jayden also walked towards the car to the other side.
The minute he got in he smiled and greeted his new mom

"Um... good afternoon Madam Gloria"

Gloria just smiled and replied to his greeting

"Good afternoon Jayden. How was your first day at school today?"

Jayden took off his bag and placed it beside him. He smiled and replied politely

"It was okay Madam Gloria...."

"That's great...put your seat belts on..."
Gloria started the car and started driving.

Meanwhile, Prissy totally ignored Jayden the whole way back.
He wanted to ask how her day was but decided against it and looked out the window instead. He stared at the trees that they passed by till he was lost in his own thoughts.

[Flashback]

"Hey Chris look what I found"

A young boy around six years old run towards an abandoned building holding a plastic rubber bag.
Getting into the building,he saw his big brother,Chris arranging containers in the room.

Chris seeing his little brother return with a black plastic bag couldn't help but frown. Putting down the last bowl down right under the dripping roof cleaned his dirty hand on his ragged old shorts and walked towards his baby brother.

"Jay...I told you not to run off like that. What if someone hurts you?"

Chris scolded his brother and his brother couldn't help but look down guiltily.

Sighing,Chris bent down in front of his sulking brother then said softly.

"Alright alright I'm sorry I scolded you. I just don't want anything bad happening to you hm. You're all I got"

He tried comforting his younger brother which seemed to have work because he suddenly looked up at him then smiled

" I know Chris,but I was hungry. We haven't eaten in two days....and I thought....I should go out to get us something....to eat"

He explained and Chris couldn't help but pull him into a hug. Ever since they lost their parents a year ago...they have been staying in this abandoned house.
Chris didn't want social services to get them so he left their home so they won't be found. He has tried finding ways to help take care of himself and his brother by doing small jobs. Carrying  people's luggages. Cleaning their houses. Walking dogs. Selling plastic bottles and what not. He wished he could do better but... who would ever hire a ten year old boy?

[Flashback end]

He was suddenly pulled back to the present when he heard Gloria say something.

"... I'm not in the mood mom"
He heard Prissy say. He didn't even realize that they had reached home till Prissy got off the car and closed the door hard which made a bang sound

He heard Gloria sigh and she leaned her back against the car's seat.

".....Jayden, I'm sorry. Prissy... she'll come around alright?"

He heard her say. He just smiled then said..

" You don't have to worry ma'am. I'm not disturbed at all"

"....Call me mom"
