Today was my last day in Texas before I flew to New York for work. I was feeling extremely nervous because today I decided to take my best friend Y/N out to brunch for her birthday... and to confess my feelings for her.

Last nights sleep was hell for me, all I could think about was 'What if she doesn't feel the same way about me?'
And if she doesn't like me back then wow thats going to be hella awkward.
This needed to be done today because I was going to be travelling for months, for interviews and for season 3 of TSITP.
I didn't wanna be gone that long without telling her how I felt, she made me feel all sorts of feelings. This was the first time I truly felt this way about a girl... I've had love for my past ex girlfriends but those feelings don't even come close to what I'm feeling now. This girl made me weak.

Sean tried to give me his best words of encouragement over FaceTime as I prepared myself for this early brunch.

"She'll like you back, you're a catch bro." Sean spoke, I kept switching my shirts feeling indecisive.

'Y/n is out of my league'
Was all I kept repeating in my head.
All these years I was blinded sided by our friendship, I'd tell y/n all about what I'd look for in a girl and only recently took a step back to realise that she was the one for me.
"Good luck for brunch bud, I'll see you in New York." Sean spoke before hanging up.
Nervously I sighed and decided on a white graphic t-shirt.
"Time to pick her up." I mumbled under my breath.

"You okay?" I asked curiously while looking over at Gavin, he was driving and kept his eyes focused on the road. He seemed jittery and nervous, which wasn't like Gavin at all.

"I'm okay y/n, just excited to take you to brunch for your birthday. It's the last thing I want to do before I go to New York." Gavin explained smiling, I felt my heart flutter.

"I feel so spoiled Gavin, you know you didn't have to take me to brunch... We could've just ordered food and relaxed at mine." I replied,

"We do that often y/n, I wanted to take you out. Maybe even take you shopping after brunch." Gavin replied, my jaw dropped.

"What did I do to deserve this princess treatment?" I asked smiling while squeezing his cheek, Gavin smirked lightly and glanced my way.

By the time we made it to our destination we ordered straight away because I was starving.
We both ended up ordering eggs Benedict with extra hollandaise sauce.

"Copied my order huh." Gavin commented, his bright blue eyes facing my way.
"We just spend way too much time together." I replied rolling my eyes.
The waitress had arrived with our plates and before we started eating like pigs I stopped Gavin.

"Wait let me take a picture before we destroy our food. And I'm gonna post this for my birthday." I spoke happily, Gavin grinned for the picture.

I wasn't even hungry because of how nervous I was...
Sitting back in my chair I fixed my posture and examined the girl in front of me, I smiled to myself and admired her.
"After this, we're taking heaps of selfies because I won't see you for months." She commented with a huge grin, I perched my lips together and gave in.
"But of course, um y/n. I need to tell you something." I asked while flaring my nostrils.
Y/n placed her fork down and kept her eyes on me,
"Whats wrong Gavin?" Y/n asked sweetly, her soft voice making it a bit easier to tell her how I felt.
"I have feelings for you y/n, I wanted to tell you before I left for work. I hope this doesn't affect our friendship." I mumbled, y/n kept her stare on me and smiled to her self as she looked down.

"Thank you for telling me Gavin, because I feel the same way. I've liked you for a year now and it was hard for me to try and understand because you're my best-friend. Also I didn't know how to tell you because I was afraid of rejection." Y/n replied.

My nerves left my body. She liked me back.
"My perfect girl has been with me this entire time, and it ONLY took me 5 years to realise that." I joked, y/n chuckled and I reached out for her hand.
Our fingers intertwining.
"I'm gonna miss you when I leave. Visit me in North Carolina?" I asked, y/n couldn't stop smiling.

"Of course Gavin." Y/n whispered softly.
