I watched as the rest of the people filtered out of the room draped with long dark blue velvet curtains with a round table sitting in the middle of it, the one I was currently sitting at. The room served as a space for special meetings like this one. Even though I strived for change, everything remained the same. Even though I tried fighting with Sybil and her father together with the beta family, the results were the same, which was tiring. I was tired of everything. And as Pierce made a move to get out of the room as well, I grabbed his hand, halting his steps. He did something that was uncalled for today. He insulted Sybil, and that was a very big crime in my eyes.

“Is there something you want to discuss?” He asked. Slowly, I climbed to my feet, facing him. He was a small man who carried himself as someone very important, when in reality, he was nothing. Dropping my hand from around his wrist, I cast my eyes around, making sure everyone was gone before I unleashed my anger on him.

I didn't hate Sybil. If I was being honest, I would love for her to be alpha one day, but I had a very valid reason to stop her. Unlike Pierce here, who hated her just because she was a woman. There had to be someone who really hurt his feelings in the past for him to have this unhealthy hatred towards women. To him, they were all inferior beings. Unfortunately for him, I didn't give two flying fucks.

“I've told you time and time again not to insult Sybil, yet you don't listen.” He frowned, arching his eyebrows as if he wanted to ask a question.

“Don't tell me you've grown a soft spot for that little brat.” Before I could even register my next move, I grabbed Pierce by the throat, my fingers circling around it, applying pressure. When his back hit the wall, I felt some kind of satisfaction in the deep pits of my soul.

“What are you doing?” He choked out when my fingers flexed around his throat, feeling the pounding of fear underneath my palm. I cut off his air supply, fear spreading to his eyes, his pale skin turning red. Today I had one mission. He was going to listen.

“Don't ever disrespect her again,” I said, making sure each and every word sunk into his thick brain.

“Ah, I see,” he started, his voice coming out strained from the force I was still applying on his throat. I should stop, but he was a wolf. He could handle it.

“You had a test of her little cunt, didn't you? And now you feel bad for her?” My wolf tried to push to the surface, but I pushed back. If he succeeded in coming forward, I would shred this little imbecile to pieces.

“Pierce,” I growled. Like my wolf, who hated it when anyone disrespected her, I felt like this man had crossed the line. Scratch that, I knew this man had crossed the line.

You had a taste of her little cunt, didn't you?

Those words circled in my mind repeatedly until crimson flashed before my eyes. He didn't even have the right to call her that. I didn't even have the right to call her that. But this was Pierce. He thought he was above every woman that existed.

“I've heard she can take…” I wound my hand around his neck and slammed him harder into the wall this time until a terrible crack cut through the damn air. Yet I felt no remorse. Pierce whimpered, his eyes turning glassy. I wasn't a gentle person, and he knew it. He also was well aware that if I wanted to, I could hurt him in ways he could never comprehend, and get away with it.

“This is the last time Pierce, don't talk to her like that.” The skin on his face was a heavy hue of red now, a heavy tremble wrecking his body.

“Or what?” actually, I liked his false bravado sometimes. It was kind of entertaining, yet always a foolish move on his part.
