Saying Sanemi was worried would be an understatement. Shinobu had informed him that she would be running two tests on Y/n: one for her overall health assessment and another to check on their child. The fear of receiving any bad news gnawed at him, eating away at his usually stoic exterior. Despite his efforts to maintain a calm and collected facade, anxiety churned relentlessly inside him.

Sanemi stood by the entrance of the infirmary, arms crossed and eyes fixed on the door. He felt helpless, a feeling he despised more than anything. Every passing minute felt like an eternity. The constant stream of Kakushi moving around the estate barely spared him a glance, each one too intimidated by his brooding presence to make eye contact. They could sense the intensity of his unease and chose to keep their distance, fearing that even a fleeting look might provoke his ire.

His thoughts raced uncontrollably. What if something was wrong with Y/n? What if their child was at risk? He had faced countless demons without flinching, but the idea of losing Y/n or their unborn child was a terror he couldn't bear to confront.

Sanemi’s mind drifted back to the moments they had shared, the plans they had made for the future. He remembered Y/n’s laughter, the way her eyes sparkled when she talked about their child. He clenched his fists, his knuckles whitening as he tried to keep his emotions in check. He had to be strong, for her and for their child.

Finally, the door opened, and Shinobu stepped out, her expression calm and composed as always. Sanemi’s heart pounded in his chest as he met her gaze.

"Sanemi," Shinobu began, her voice gentle but firm. "The tests are complete."

He swallowed hard, his throat dry. "How is she? How is the baby?"

Shinobu’s lips curved into a reassuring smile. "Both Y/n and the baby are doing well. The health assessment shows that she’s recovering steadily, and the baby is healthy and developing perfectly."

Relief washed over Sanemi, so intense it nearly brought him to his knees. He exhaled a breath he didn't realize he had been holding, his entire body relaxing for the first time in hours. "Thank you," he managed to say, his voice thick with emotion. "Thank you, Shinobu."

She nodded, her smile warm. "Y/n is ready to see you. She’s been asking for you."

Sanemi wasted no time, striding into the room with a renewed sense of purpose. As he saw Y/n lying there, looking tired but with a serene smile on her face, he felt his heart swell with love and gratitude.

"Sanemi," Y/n said softly, her eyes lighting up at the sight of him.

He approached her bedside, gently taking her hand in his. "You’re both okay," he said, his voice a mix of wonder and relief.
