The chamber was eerily silent after Hale's departure, the only sound the soft, labored breathing of Ethan and Lila as they struggled against their bonds. The shock of Marcus's death and the betrayal by Hale weighed heavily on them, but they couldn't afford to dwell on it. They had to act.

Ethan twisted his wrist, trying to reach his wand. With a grunt of effort, he managed to free his hand enough to cast a quick spell. "Diffindo," he whispered, and the ropes binding them fell away.

Lila immediately rushed to Marcus's side, tears streaming down her face. "He's gone, Ethan. He's really gone."

Ethan placed a hand on her shoulder, his expression grim. "We have to keep moving. Hale has the Heart of Sayre, and we can't let her get away. We need to inform Headmistress Whitlock and regroup."

They hurried back through the dark corridors of Ilvermorny, their steps echoing with urgency. When they burst into the Headmistress's office, Whitlock and Professor Dawes looked up in alarm.

"Ethan, Lila, what happened?" Headmistress Whitlock demanded, her eyes widening as she saw their expressions.

"Hale betrayed us," Ethan said, his voice steady but filled with anger. "She killed Marcus and took the Heart of Sayre. She's been leading the Eclipse Society all along."

The room erupted into a flurry of shocked whispers and exclamations. Professor Dawes looked pale, and Whitlock's face hardened with resolve.

"We need to track her down immediately," Dawes said. "We can't let the Eclipse Society use the Heart for whatever they're planning."

Headmistress Whitlock nodded, her expression resolute. "Ethan, Lila, you need to rest and regroup. Professor Dawes, start working on a way to trace Hale's magic. I'll organize a search party. We need all hands on deck for this."

As the team sprang into action, Ethan and Lila were ushered into a side room. They sank into chairs, their bodies aching and their minds reeling.

"I can't believe she's been playing us this whole time," Lila said, her voice barely above a whisper. "How did we not see it?"

Ethan shook his head. "She was good at hiding it. But now we know the truth, and we won't stop until we stop her and the Eclipse Society."

Lila nodded, determination hardening her features. "For Marcus."

"For Marcus," Ethan echoed.

As they sat there, gathering their strength for the battle ahead, they knew the fight was far from over. The Eclipse Society had made their move, and now it was their turn to strike back.
