//Niki's POV

Ow, that hurt. Sunoo was extra aggressive today, and my ear was still stinging from his earlier tugging.

I glanced over at Jay Hyung from across the room, silently begging for some sympathy. Jay just rolled his eyes and shrugged, totally unhelpful as usual. How rude.

I'd ask Sunghoon Hyung for help, but he was too engrossed in staring at his crush, Jake. It was kind of gross to watch, but whatever.

But then I noticed something else. Sunoo's gaze was fixed on the same spot, his eyes full of something like longing. Was he interested in Sunghoon or Jake?

Honestly, I couldn't care less.

And just like that, the bell rang, signaling the end of the period. We all shuffled off to our next class—Performing Arts.

In this class, everyone was grouped together, so Niki and Sunoo barely interacted.

Mr. Bahng, our Performing Arts teacher, walked in and greeted us.

"Good morning, class."

"Good morning, Mr. Bahng," we all replied in unison.

"Today, we're starting a new project. You'll be working in pairs to sing and choreograph a dance to a song I assign you. I'll be assigning the groups now."

The room buzzed with a mix of anticipation and nervous chatter as Mr. Bahng began to call out names.

"Jay and Jungwon, you'll be doing 'Someday' by Ampers&one."The two of them exchanged excited smiles. Their friends seemed to be getting along well, except for Niki and Sunoo, who were still locked in their mutual disdain.

"Sunghoon and Jake, you'll be doing 'Black Swan' by BTS."Niki turned to glance at Sunghoon, who was bright red. It was obvious he was head over heels for Jake.

"Heeseung and Geonu, you'll be doing '20cm' by TXT."

"And finally, Niki and Sunoo," Mr. Bahng announced.

The room went silent. The two of them froze, eyes wide with disbelief.

What the hell?

Their friends were struggling to contain their laughter, barely holding it together.

"You two will be performing 'Moonstruck' by Enhypen."

Sunoo's face contorted with shock and irritation. He looked over at Jungwon and Jake, who were now laughing hysterically.

Fake friends.

//Niki

A love song... with the guy I hate? This is going to be a nightmare.

"Mr. Bahng, can I switch partners, please?" Niki asked, trying to keep his tone polite but failing to hide his desperation.

"Why do you and Sunoo hate each other?" Mr. Bahng inquired, genuinely curious.

"Uh, no reason. I just don't like love songs," Niki answered, hoping it would be enough.

"That's unfortunate. No, you're stuck with him," Mr. Bahng said firmly.

Sunoo smirked at Niki, while their friends were practically rolling on the floor with laughter.

"Hey, you five, what's so funny?" Mr. Bahng demanded, his patience wearing thin.

"Nothing, sir," Heeseung managed between breaths, still chuckling uncontrollably.

The duo glared at their friends, annoyed by their lack of sympathy.

"Back on topic. You'll have two months to work on this project. It will require out-of-school meetings and practice. You may begin now," Mr. Bahng said, dismissing them.

The two of them sat in silence, refusing to move.

"Okay, I know you two hate each other, but unless you want to fail my class, you need to get to work," Mr. Bahng said firmly.

The duo groaned in unison and reluctantly moved to a corner of the room."You'll handle the choreography, and I'll work on the vocals," Sunoo said, breaking the silence.

"Fine," Niki replied curtly.

The class dragged on as Niki worked on the choreography while Sunoo split the lines and practiced singing. The tension between them was palpable, but they each focused on their tasks, knowing they had to get this done.

When the class finally ended, Sunoo was about to walk out when Niki grabbed his wrist.

"What?" Sunoo snapped.

"Give me your Instagram," Niki demanded.

"Why?" Sunoo asked, eyebrows raised.

"So we can communicate about the project," Niki explained.

"Fine. It's @sunshi," Sunoo said coldy.

"Okay," Niki replied, noting the handle down. With that, the two went their separate ways, heading to their third class.
