Ep. 4 (1-2/4)Anueng's mom finally comes back home with(out) the milk.
_________________________________________Narrator's POV:
P'Fah ushered Khun Nueng away from everyone to a quiet spot away from the noise and prying eyes.
Khun Nueng sighed mentally.
She was not wanting to hear the monologue of how she had almost caused Anueng's death.
She has heard it too many times before, more times that she would've liked.
"Hmm. You don't seem too happy to see me. You haven't seen me for a long time... shouldn't you be asking how I've been? If I've been good or not?" P'Fah questioned.
Khun Nueng clenched her jaw in order to stop herself from saying anything rude.
Over time the Sippakorn realized how cruel it was for P'Fah to being her to a desolate location just to put guilt on her for Anueng's birth.
No 'Hi, how are you?'
No 'How have you been?'
Khun Nueng even realized that she has never thanked her for taking care of her daughter when nobody did.
Not her grandmother. Not her dad, and certainly not her.
P'Fah wanted Khun Nueng to give her courtesy of what she had been doing and how her life has turned out, but she didn't do the same to Khun Nueng.
Even though P'Fah was the most understanding and non-hostile of Anueng's family when their relationship got found out, her earlier attitudes towards her were foul.
Guilt-tripping.
Lying.
Gate-keeping her from Anueng.
Using Anueng's birth against her.
And let's not forget the reason why ahe named Anueng, well, Anueng.
P'Fah named Anueng after her, about her disappointment of her.
Khun Nueng did not disappoint anyone. And Anueng wasn't a disappointment.
It left a bad taste in her mouth. But Khun Nueng wasn't the same as she was months ago. No.
She was stronger. She wouldn't be belittled, she wouldn't be tricked, she wouldn't be walked over.
P'Fah was overjoyed to see THE Khun Nueng shaken from her involvement in Anueng's birth.
But this time she wouldn't give her the satisfaction.
"Remember what you did now? Anueng almost died because of you!"
Khun Neung blinked rapidly and her eyes widened in shock.
Had she blanked out the entire time P'Fah was telling her about the hematinic situation?
"What's wrong? I didn't expect you to be so shocked...after all it was you who gave it to me in the first place." P'Fah informed with a tilt of her head.
"So...you did take the hematinic." Khun Nueng questioned, the words coming back to her like photographic memory.
"Yes, I did. But then I got scared. I ran to my mom for help, so she survived."
Khun Nueng nodded slowly and stood her ground.
"Good."
P'Fah was taken aback at the one word reaction.
"Good?" She said incredulously, shaking her head.
"Anueng was born prematurely and had to be in an incubator NICU for months! And let's not forget to mention her eyesight! Why do you think she has to wear such thick glasses? The girl is nearly blind!"
