Joel's POV:

We talked about everything and nothing for a while. The uncomfortable chairs, the ticking clock, a little bit of Cleo and her hated hospital pillows, about Gem and Pearl and a bit about Etho's life, but rather good things, for example I found out that he has a sister.

"You have a sister?" I asked exited we have something in common.

"Yeah, an older one."

I never imagined Etho having a sister. That's new! I guess we don't know each other well so I don't know why I felt suprised after his words.

"Jealooous! I have a younger one and she's so annoying!"

"You're lucky to have a younger than you sibling. Though I can't say that mine doesn't have good advice sometimes."

"Still...Casey is a special kid, but also a very loud one."

"Like all kids" he shrugged.

"She is...diffrent. She was diagnosed with ADHD at an age of ten, and with Tourette's when she was five. Since her first diagnose, she was bullied because of it. She had a hard childhood but I think now she's more resistant to other peoples hate comments."

It was hard to bring back memories of the hardships young Casey faced...

"Poor Casey...how old is she now?"

"Thirteen, going fourteen this year. Her birthday is on second of october."

"Oh! That's actually not that long until her birthday! Can I get her something?"

"Sure! She'll be thrilled to get to know you!"

That sentence put a smile on his face, I could see it on his eyes. I never really believed in making someone happy just with a smile, but Etho did it perfectly.

We were so caught up in our little conversation we didn't notice a familliar waffle-head coming into the building.

"Joel?"

When I turned around I saw G-man standing in a still cautious position even though he had a slight smile on his face

"Oh Hi G, are you fine?"

"Yeah, I'm okay, but are you?" He reached down to me and placed his hand on my shoulder. When he said "are you?", he looked sideways at Etho.

"I'm fine G. We talked with Etho...about everything. I feel much better after that." I looked at him trying to show him he shouldn't murder Etho anymore with his eyes.

I think he got the message 'cause his body relaxed a bit and he stood back up giving Etho his hand to shake.

Etho also stood up to be at G's level but he still overheighted him when he shook his hand.

"Hi, I'm Etho, but I think you already know that"

"Yeah, I heard some interesting things about you from this lil' guy-" He smirked while pointing his thumb at me.

"-Oh shut up G!" His jokes about my height never bothered me, but I always pretended it offended me deeply. This time I did the same.

"Your name's G?" The white-hair asked my best friend.

"Not exacly. My name's Grian, but he, Skizzle, and Tim call me that"

"Skizzle?"

"Oh yeah, he coudn't make it today but-"

I stopped listening to him after that sentence.

Wait...sorry, what? Was he supposed to come here too? How many people know about... all this?

"...Joel? Joel?" I heard Etho's voice  trying to break through my thoughts.

"Huh? Oh, sorry I just-"

Etho's face again seemed worried.

"Hey, we can leave if you want." He suggested pointing to the exit door.

"Are you okay to leave?" I was tired as hell, but I wasn't sure if Etho could come with us. After all, he had just fainted.

"Yes, Doctor Iskall told me I'm fine to go home today."

"Then, yes please, I feel sick...'cause of emotions and...everything that happened today." I told him the truth. I had finally managed to tell him how I really felt before, so it was easy for me to tell him the truth again now.

"I can imagine. Grian can you take him home?" My new friend asked Grian, whose face also showed physical and mental fatigue.

"Yeah, do you need a drive too?"

"Uh...actually...if it's not a problem? I left my car by my work"

"It's fine. Let's go, I want to leave this..." He sighed and a grimace appeared on his face "...let's just go...its been, a hard day"

I can agree with that.

G-man pulled me to his side, and walked me to his car. Fortunately, it wasn't far away, so after a few moments I was sitting in the back on the leather seats.

Sleep...

I remember very little of what happened next. I think I fell asleep? I was very tired, so it was very likely that I did that.

Today was...exhausting.

I guess she really is a perception of me 😅
