Part 49: The Sniper

We find Midoriya and you jumping from rooftop to rooftop.

Y/N: We should stop and at least eat. It's hard to help people on an empty stomach.

Midoriya: ... Fine...

The two of you stop and land in an alley where All Might is waiting.

All Might: Young Midoriya, Young L/N, I made you something to eat.

Y/N: Thank you, sir.

Midoriya eats quietly but a thought is running through your head.

Y/N: All Might, have you heard from Endeavor about the Gurongi attacks?

All Might: There have been reports of animal-like individuals killing people. Endeavor's tried to take them in for questioning but... Something is killing them.

Your Thoughts: Something's killing the Gurongi?

Y/N: What are some of the most recent civilian casualties?

All Might grimaces.

All Might: Teens and young adults... They end up in the hospital in immense pain and die mysteriously a few days later from brain hemorrhages... Several... Took their own lives to escape the pain.

Your eyes widen in shock.

Y/N: Oh god...

Midoriya: Should we look into it?

Y/N: ... Yeah. I think I know someone who can give us some intel... Let's go meet with them.

Midoriya nods as the two of you take off.

All Might: Be careful!

You lead Midoriya and momentarily use Pegasus to pick up on any threats. You hear a strange sound and realize too late what it is...

The sound of a bullet being fired from far away...

Y/N: Look out!

You jump in front of Midoriya and a bullet pierces your side.

Y/N: Gah!

Midoriya: L/N!

You almost fall but Midoriya catches you with Black Whip. He then uses Smokescreen, releasing a smoke cloud to obscure the two of you.

Midoriya: Are you alright?

Y/N: I've had worse injuries...

You rip your sleeve and bite down on it as you remove the bullet in your side.

Midoriya: It looks like... Hair... That means...

Y/N: We're dealing with a Quirk User...

Midoriya: One in particular... The former Sniper hero... Lady Nagant...

You heard stories about Nagant... A hero who worked closely with the Hero Public Safety Commission. But she supposedly turned to villainy.

Y/N: Her Quirk lets her turn her arm into a rifle and her hair into bullets... We don't have time for this... People are dying right now...

You clench your fists.

Y/N: Find an opening... We need to deal with this fast... Henshin!

You transform into Dragon Form and shoot out of the smoke. As expected, Nagant begins to fire at you but with your speed, she can't land a good shot. Midoriya then uses Black Whip to send his cape, backpack, and other things in different directions to find where Nagant is firing from. The former hero turns her fire on Midoriya's distractions and you notice a speck of purple on a rooftop.
