"One week later, as the clock ticked towards their university days, a mysterious air enveloped the campus, hinting at secrets waiting to be unraveled...
It's somehow impossible to forget how to be in love.
Someone will always come into your life and remind you of its sweetness. You can go through a lot, because of love, but there's always that one person who will try anything to make you feel the petals of love, and not its thorns.
As a child, if they guided you through the waters, teaching you to swim, and then, life's currents carried you away from those lessons, a shadow of doubt may cloud your mind, whispering that you've forgotten the art of swimming. Yet, the truth remains steadfast; just as the ocean beckons, your muscles will effortlessly recall the dance of strokes, propelling you forward in the embrace of the sea's depths, because your muscles will remember how to do so. The heart is also a muscle, so if you put love in your mind, your heart will, remember... Once more."
Jane's commitment to Matheo endured despite the trials they faced, as he selflessly protected her from danger.
She was there for him, when he refused to go to his father's funeral.
But that didn't mean, that she forgot about the photo of him and Chloe kissing. It was the first thing she thought of every morning and the last thing she thought of every night.
"So you won't tell me the reason you ran away? You didn't even contact me Jane! I thought I mattered." Angelina said.
"Angelina, I know I should've told you, but I couldn't risk being in touch with Matheo, especially if I called you while he was around. Things were all messed up," Jane's words held a tinge of remorse.
"Why avoid contact with Matheo specifically?"
"Can we go to the bathroom? I'll explain everything there."
"Let's go." Angelina agreed, and together they walked towards the bathroom.
"He's... cheating on me," she began, her voice heavy.
"On our third anniversary, I was getting ready, and then an unknown number sent me a photo of Chloe and Matheo, kissing. I couldn't bear to face him after that, I was too weak to do it, so I just ran," Jane's voice quivered with emotion as she recounted the painful memory.
As they made their way to the bathroom, Chloe caught sight of the intense conversation between Jane and Angelina, her presence unnoticed as she lingered in the shadows, listening intently.
"And that's not even the worst part. After I fled, I discovered I was pregnant," Jane confessed, tears cascading down her cheeks.
"Pregnant?" Angelina's disbelief echoed in the air.
"Pregnant," Jane confirmed, her voice breaking as she finally released the flood of emotions in a tearful embrace.
"I considered abortion, I even went to do it, but I couldn't. I felt like a criminal. I just couldn't go through with it," Jane's words trembled with sorrow.
"Hush now, it's alright. You're the strongest girl I know, and you'll find your way through this," Angelina reassured her, offering solace in their shared pain and uncertainty.
"You're not planning on telling him right?" Jane just shook her head.
"Come here." Angelina said as she pulled her again in a warm embrace.
~
"Matheo, I really need to tell you something." Chloe said as she ran to Matheo in the hallway.
"Chloe, sure what is it?" Matheo said with a smile on his face.
"Not here."
~
"I know everything. I know things you don't know. And you have to know it, I just don't know how to start and-"
"Chloe calm down!" Matheo interrupted Chloe as she said all this in one breath.
"I did something terribly wrong, and you need to act before it's too late. Remember the bathroom incident when I kissed you, mistaking you for John? Well, it wasn't a mistake. I orchestrated it with Oliver, manipulating a situation to kiss you," Chloe's voice trembled with regret and sorrow.
"Oliver took pictures of us and sent them to Jane," Chloe's words hung heavy in the air, the weight of her actions sinking in.
"What?" Matheo's disbelief was evident as he struggled to process the unfolding drama. He licked his lips and flipped his hair in frustration.
"Let me explain," Chloe pleaded, her voice cracking with emotion. "We've been friends since childhood, and I harbored feelings for you all these years. I was the only one who knew everything about your father and kept my mouth shut for 16 years, just because of my love for you. I was in love with you, and I deeply regret my actions now. I never anticipated it would escalate like this; I thought things would end differently."
Matheo's frustration boiled over as he prepared to leave, his mind reeling from the revelations.
"She's pregnant," Chloe's voice broke as tears streamed down her face, delivering the final blow.
"She's carrying your child. You need to take responsibility. I'm sorry for the chaos I have caused," Chloe's words echoed in the cafeteria as she fled, leaving a trail of shattered emotions in her wake.
