The next morning i woke up really early, I left my room to go get myself breakfast.

"goodmorning roxy" molly says watching the television sitting on the couch.

"hi molly!" i say as i happily pour my wheaties in to a bowl

molly looked at me confused
"what are you so happy about?"

"i'm going to go play baseball" i say sitting down at the table

molly looked surprised
"wow seems like you made some friends"

"yep! his name his benny well actually there's other boys to but benny offered to teach me baseball"

molly looked more shocked then surprise now
"it's a boy? is he cute!" she says coming over to me and nudging my shoulder.

my face quickly turned red
"yeah he's pretty cute.. but we are just friends"

molly smirks at me
"okay.."

When i was done eating my breakfast i quickly changed into a halter top with jean shorts and put my disguise on.

I walked down my street looking around me so i can become familiar with all the roads and houses.

I eventually arrived at the sandlot, when i got there all of the boys were in their spots ready to play.

everybody looks over at me
"finally" squints says with relief

benny jogs over to me from home plate.

"you know, benny delayed the game so you could be here?" ham says complaining

"is that true" i grin at benny

"hm.. maybe" he smiles back

"so, what do you want to work on first?" he asks

"how about.. batting?"

"yeah sure follow me"

me and benny walked up to home plate, it seemed like everybody was staring at us as we walked which was a little embarrassing.

i stepped onto the plate and grabbed the bat off of the ground.

"ok so what you want to do is pull the bat back a little behind you" benny says as he moves the bat in my hands

"and then when you think the ball is at a perfect point to hit, swing"

"alright that sounds somewhat easy"
I was so nervous, i tried to seem laid back and all but i was worried i was gonna make a fool of myself.

kenny pitched the ball and it went straight into hams glove.

"that's strike one" ham says from behind me

benny walks over to me
"your too tensed up" benny then tangles his arms from behind me and fixes my arm position. my face got red quickly.

"just relax" he says backing up to let me swing.

i followed what he said and relaxed my arms a bit. kenny then pitched the ball and the ball went soaring towards me, i abruptly hit the ball causing it to go over the fence.

everybody starts cheering
"nice roxanne!" benny says as he claps

"what did i do?" i say looking at everybody confused as i stood still.

benny that's snickers at me
"you hit the ball over the fence, you got a home run which is really good for you first time. now you gotta run the bases"

i was still a little stubborn
"oh.. ok" i say slowly starting to run the bases

I watched roxanne as she awkwardly ran the bases, everybody was cheering for her and she was smiling back at them in return, i couldn't help but smile at her even though she wasn't looking at me.
