a few days had passed since my mother told me we aren't moving anymore, i went back to filming for the tv show, and on my free time i played at the sandlot.

today was dawns birthday, we had big plans for today.
we told all the boys that we were gonna convince benny to take us to the pool. and we came up with a plan.

me and dawn told everyone to show up early so we can discuss the plan before benny gets to the sandlot.

"okay then you say your line timmy okay?"
timmy nodded his head

"perfect! this is going to be the best birthday ever!" dawn says with a big smile on her face

we then saw benny in the distance walking to the baseball diamond.

"get in your places!" i whisper

benny notices us suspiciously smiling at him and scrunches his eyebrows at us.

"hi benny!" i say with a cheesy smile on my face

he looks around
"hi?.."
he then goes to home plate and gets ready to bat.

dawn raises her eyebrows at me signaling for my line

"gee! it sure is hot out here!"
i look at ham because his line was next but he looked oblivious.

"i said.. gee! it sure is-"

ham shakes back to reality
"oh yeah! man i'm baking like a toasted cheeser!"

then kenny says his line
"yeah i agree!" he says with terrible acting skills

benny shakes his head at us and drops his bat
"okay.. what is going on with everybody?"

i sigh
"benny.. we really want to go to the pool, for dawns birthday today"

benny tilts his head then shakes his head
"happy birthday dawn but we can't miss a day of baseball this summer.. right guys?" he says looking over at the house for an answer

all of the boys look away as if they weren't listening

"seriously?" benny says raising an eyebrow at them.

"please benny!" i say clasping my hands together and pouting

"yeah please benny! it's for my birthday please please please!" dawn says as we are both pouting.

benny waves his hands around
"fine fine fine!" he turns to the boys
"be like that.."

"yay!" me and dawn both jump up and down.

after we plan where to meet, i ran home and grabbed the only two swimsuits i own and ran over to the smalls house to get ready with dawn.

"hi come in!" dawn says answering the door

we both ran into her room as she took out atleast 6 swimsuits.

"jeez! how many swimsuits do you own?!" I say as i stare at the pile on the floor

she laughs
"which one?"

i pointed to a green striped bikini she had
"i think that one would look cute.. especially if your gonna see bertram" i laugh

dawn starts blushing
"shut up!" she says playfully hitting my shoulder

"anyways show me the swimsuits your brought"

i slowly placed down the only two i have had for years.
dawn looked at me with an eyebrow raised

"this is all you have?"

"yeah.." i look down

"i like the red one!"

"yeah it's cute but i never wear it.."
