Abbie's POV
"How was your day Abigail?" Dad asked me, maybe the school hadn't called him. Could I be that lucky?
"It was ok. Science period 4 killed me though." Act as if nothing happened, play it cool Abbie.
"I didn't think you were there during fourth period today." He replied. Everyone sitting at the table turned to look at me. Shit.
"Not the time" Jodie whispered in Dad's ear.
...
I walk into dad's office after dinner and sit down. Better to get it over and done with.
"Abbie I can't begin to express how disappointed I am in you right now and how disappointed I have been in you for the past few months. You're only 15 you shouldn't be throwing away your life like this. You knew the consequences of your actions but you still just did not care. That's why I'm upset. Your mother and I have spoken and I have spoken to Carina and instead of sending you to boarding school, you will be living with Carina in Sydney." Dad said. Holy shit - that is not what I expected. Dad continued,
"We are leaving for Sydney on Monday next week. If I hear anything from Carina about you misbehaving you better watch out got it?" I nodded my head and went to leave.
"Verbal answer Abigail."
"Yep I get it" I said as I ran out of the room on the verge of tears. I ran to my room and flopped on my bed. This cannot be happening! First he pulls me out of my home with my friends, my school and my family and drags me all the way to Canberra and as soon as I get comfortable he's sending me to Sydney! I can't deal with this right now. I call Harper and go outside jump the fence and run to Harpers house.
....
We are sitting on Harper's bed eating ice cream and taking puffs out of her vape when I get a call. I decline it, and then another call comes which I decline as well. When the same number calls me a third I reluctantly pick up.
"Hello?"
"Abbie wh where are you?" I could hear Charlotte crying on the other end.
"Char where are you? What's happening?"
"I'm at home and there's blood. Like lots of blood." She continues to wail on the other end.
"Blood! What do you mean blood? Is someone hurt? What's happening there?"
"The bloods coming ou out of meeeeeeee."
"Where's it coming from bub?"
"My my butt." She cries
"Oh Charlotte it's ok I'll come home right now and we can deal with it ok?"
"Where are youuuuuuu. Your meant to be be at homeeee."
"I'll be back soon Char, ok?"
"Ok." she wails.
....
I ran home and straight up to Charlotte's room stopping by the bathroom first.
"Abbieeee" She cries as I walked in
"Char it's ok take a few deep breaths and let me explain. What's happening is a period. It happens once a month and it's perfectly normal" I then went on to explain everything to her hopefully calming her nerves.
"You ok?" She nodded in response. I left her room and started walking towards my parent's room. Knocking on the door I pocked my head in.
"Jodes can I talk to you?"
"Yeah sure" She replied jumping out of bed.
"What's up?"
"I think Charlotte's just gotten her first period. She called me crying hysterically and I explained to her how to use a pad and what a period is to calm her nerves a bit but didn't go into too much detail because I thought I would leave that to you to explain."
"Thanks for telling me Abs, and thanks for being there for her." Jodie said hugging me
