As soon as we got home I stormed into my room before dad could say he wanted to talk. I locked the door and just lay on my bed. In this moment all I wanted was my mum. I knew what I did was stupid but I hate how disappointed dad was in me.
"Abbie, dinner" I was not going to sit there and act happy when I'm not even hungry. I put in my headphones and rolled over on my bed.
"Abs?" I hear my door squeaking open. I am not replying to Jodie right now. She came up behind me and gave me a big hug.
"I love you Abbie" And then she left.
RING! RING! RING!
"Ciao Mumma"
"How's my favourite Abbie going?"
"Not the best, rough day." I already knew why she was calling but wasn't gonna give up the information easily.
"Do you want to tell me what happened at school?"
"No, that's what I told everyone else. I just felt like it that's the whole story."
"Amore mio that's not how I raised you."
"Like you were ever around" I replied - shit I was not meant to say that.
"Excuse me?"
"You took off to Italy the first chance you got with your new boyfriend and just forgot about me."
"How dare you"
"You know what mum it's getting late I have to go." I said hanging up the phone and throwing it down on my bed. I just needed some time to myself.
8:20 - 5 minutes until the security detail changes. I chuck on a hoodie and slip out of my room hoping no one will be in the hallway. To my luck no one is and I run to the door that leads to the guest rooms. I head down the internal stairs and out the back door and straight to my trees and climb up as usual. I wait until I see the cop start to walk around the corner and know this is my time. I slip out of the tree and over the other side of the fence.
I walk around the streets surrounding my house and just take a minute to myself. I keep walking and see an AFP car.
"Shit." I say as I run the other way. Crisis averted. I meet my friends and we have a few drinks before I say my goodbyes and head home. I'm back at 9.20 ready for the security detail change. I repeat my earlier movements in reverse. I slip back in to my room and pass out on my bed.
