This is by far the happiest Rei has been in quite some time.

Just her and her children, all four of them. Rei coos quietly at Touya who sleeps in her arms, and she's just waiting until he wakes up. She wants to hear his giggles and wants to experience the joy of playing with him.

Rei hadn't had this chance with Touya before, as she was in the hospital for recovery for half a year after Touya was born, and by that time he was already attached to his father.

Enji Todoroki.

Rei's mind wonders to that man. He isn't here, though she was informed he was in the hospital, he had never come to see Touya. Natsuo would comment on it from time to time, but it's never brought up again. Rei can't help but feel relieved, but a bit of guilt.

Beforehand, Rei had arrived alone, she was here before her children. The doctor assigned to Touya, Dr. Isao Hikari had approached her and informed her of some... news. She and only she, is Touya sole caretaker, and Enji has no say in any of it. In fact, he legally can't be involved in Touya's life other than the money he's required to provide. Rei didn't know how she felt about it, and she still doesn't know how to explain it. But one thing is for sure, she doesn't have any objections to Enji staying not only out of Touya's life, but her life as well. Just looking around the atmosphere is peaceful, her kids are happy, she's provided with money and anything she'll need in the future, and most of all, there is no Enji.

The perfect life.

People may say she's being selfish, but considering the life she had with Enji, she deserves it. Some victims don't get a happy ending and she'll make the most out of the one she has. It's not like Enji could take it away anyway. The people are with her and against him. It's not that she doesn't pity him, she does, but this is what happens when the truth comes to light.

Abusers get condemned and blamed whilst the victim gets sympathy and comfort. That's just how the world works.

Enji is the abuser, Rei is the victim. It was bound to happen.

"I think it's time to wake him up now Ms. Todoroki." Dr. Hikari speaks up from his spot by the door. He guides the nurse with a hand on her arm, to the desk that sits on the opposite end of the room, where said nurse grabs a clipboard, then he walks over to Rei. "You're right. He has been sleeping since I had arrived." The three in the room simultaneously let out a small laugh. But it's true. The nurse walks back over with a bottle of milk, freshly heated up. "This formula is of high quality, it should fill the little baby right up." Hikari speaks with a blinding smile. Rei smiles as well, but it doesn't reach her eyes and the edges of her mouth quiver. "Actually, I was thinking that I could breast feed him." Rei keeps her head down as she speaks, a slight blush of embarrassment spread on her ears. "Oh! It's no worries Ms. Todoroki!" Hikari exclaims, quickly shooing his nurse away angrily as if she was the one who suggested the formula. For some reason, Rei felt greatly embarrassed, even more so that the doctors now know that she wants to do it. Rei sighs, she's just lucky that her children stepped out to get food not too long ago.

Scurrying back towards the desk to set down the tray, then then returning to the doctor's side with a small needle. "Don't worry. We're just going to nick him on the arm, not even enough to draw blood." Rei nods, holding Touya out for easy access.

Just as Hikari said, all the nurse did was poke Touya on his outer thigh with just enough force to wake him from his sleep, and not even a drop of red was seen.

With wide eyes, Touya lays there in Rei arms, not even a trace of tiredness visible. The day-old baby looks over every one of Rei features, but he doesn't make a peep. "Hi there baby." Rei coos down at her baby, running her fingers through his tuff of spiky hair. Touya doesn't react, instead moves his eyes to look to the side. His gaze flicks around the room as if he was looking for something.
