The rainy season had cast a spell over the city, painting everything in shades of lush green and cool gray. Arjun stood outside the charming ice cream parlor, his shirt collar dampened by the light drizzle that danced around him. He checked his watch, eager yet slightly nervous about the evening ahead.Ishika appeared from around the corner. I saw her,her smile radiant against the backdrop of misty raindrops. Her dress clung lightly to her form, her hair tousled by the gentle breeze, adding to the romantic ambiance of the moment.
My heart skipped a beat at the sight of her, a warmth spreading through me despite the cool rain.
"Ishika! You look... beautiful," I said, unable to hide my admiration.
She blushed, tucking a stray strand of damp hair behind her ear. "Thank you! You look really handsome too."
We exchanged shy smiles ....
I gestured towards the inviting glow of the ice cream parlor. "Shall we?"
She nodded eagerly, and we stepped into the cozy parlor, greeted by the comforting scent of waffle cones and an array of colorful ice cream flavors.
A friendly server welcomed us with a knowing smile. "Welcome! What can I get for you both today?"
I pretended to deliberate while stealing glances at Ishika, who studied the flavors with obvious excitement. "I think I'll have the classic vanilla. What about you, Ishika?"
Her eyes sparkled with delight as she made her choice. "I'll go with chocolate chip cookie dough, please."
The server swiftly prepared our orders, expertly scooping generous servings onto freshly made waffle cones. I paid for both cones, handing one to Ishika with a smile.
We found a small table by the misty window, the soft pitter-patter of raindrops creating a soothing background melody. We sat down, our knees occasionally brushing under the table as we unwrapped our ice creams.
Ishika took a tentative lick of her cone, savoring the creamy sweetness amidst the coolness of the rainy evening. "Mmm, this is delicious! How's yours, Arjun?"
I savored my first bite of vanilla, nodding in approval. "Perfect. Vanilla is always a good choice."
We fell into an easy conversation, talking about our favorite ice cream memories, childhood experiences with rainy days, and our dreams for the future. I found myself drawn to Ishika's laughter, her enthusiasm lighting up the quiet corners of the parlor.
"You know, I used to try making my own ice cream as a kid. One time, I added way too much sugar, and it turned into a sticky mess!"
She chuckled, imagining a young me covered in ice cream batter. "That sounds like quite an adventure! Did you manage to salvage it?"
