Sunday Morning -
At Arjun and Ishika's Home.. 🏘️
ARJUN POV
The soft morning sunlight streamed through the window, painting the room in hues of gold. I leaned against the doorframe, watching her. She was in the garden, humming softly as she tended to the flowers she adored so much. There was a serenity about her, a gentle beauty that pulled me in every time. Her fingers trailed over the petals, so delicate, so attentive, as though each bloom were a treasured piece of her heart. She didn't know how mesmerizing she looked, how effortlessly she held my world in the palm of her hand. After a few minutes, she caught sight of me standing there and flashed a smile, her eyes lighting up in a way that sent a rush of warmth through my chest."Good morning, Mr. Silent Observer," she teased, laughter dancing in her voice. She came closer, brushing her hands against her dress. "You know, it's a little creepy to just stand there watching me like that."
I smirked, shrugging casually. "Can't help it. You're the most beautiful thing in sight."
She blushed, rolling her eyes, but the smile on her lips was unmistakable. She walked into the kitchen, and I followed, caught in the comforting rhythm of our morning routine. I sat at the counter as she prepared breakfast, her hands moving deftly. I liked watching her in these small, intimate moments, the ones where she seemed most herself.
AUTHOR POV
Once the plants were watered and the soil tended, they headed back inside the house. Ishika made her way to the kitchen while Arjun settled into the living room, flipping through a magazine absentmindedly. The morning had been perfect, and Ishika's heart felt light.
She poured herself a glass of water and, as she drank, her mind wandered to the idea of making coffee. Moving to the cupboard, she opened it to retrieve the coffee jar. Her hand paused mid-reach as her eyes landed on the vitamin tablets she had given Arjun days ago, untouched and exactly as she had left them. Her mood darkened instantly.
These vitamins had been prescribed by the doctor to help Arjun cope with his grueling schedule. She had made sure he had them, but clearly, he hadn't bothered to take them. Her frustration boiled over, and she shouted his name, her voice sharp and filled with anger.
"Arjjjjun!"
Hearing the urgency in her voice, Arjun's heart skipped a beat, and he sprinted to the kitchen. Panic seized him as he rushed to her side, his mind conjuring up images of her hurt.
"Ishu, what happened? Are you okay? Did you hurt yourself? Where's the injury? Let me see!"
Ishika turned to him, her eyes blazing with fury as she held up the tablet bottle, the contents rattling accusingly.
Arjun's heart sank as he realized why she was upset. His mind scrambled for an excuse, but all he could muster was a feeble attempt at pretending he had forgotten.
"Oh... these... I've been looking everywhere for these! Where did you find them?"
But Ishika was not easily fooled. Her eyes narrowed, and she crossed her arms over her chest. "Don't you dare act like you forgot, Arjun."
Arjun tried to maintain his innocence, but Ishika's piercing gaze made it impossible. "Ishi... honestly, I just forgot..."
Her anger flared. "Forgot? You're forgetting because you're not taking your vitamins! This is why this keeps happening. I've told you so many times to take care of your health, but no, you never listen to me!"
