Ch.14: Meaning

I fluttered my eyes open to see a bright light .

I squinted my eyes at the sight.

"What time is it?" I groan as I turn my body away from the light bumping into what felt like a big pillow.

I sit up and rub the sleep out of my eyes.

I turn around to look at the clock on the bedside table .

"6 in the morning?" I mumble as I stand up walking into the bathroom.

I turn on the faucet and begin washing my face. As I look at the mirror, I notice a mark on my neck. It looked branded.

I bring up my finger to touch the mark when all of a sudden there was a knock on the door.

"Hello?Anyone there?" I hear , I believe, Susie ask.

I slightly panic turning off the water, and use my hair to cover the mark.

"Um. Yeah. I'm done already," I smile opening the door . I was pretty nervous. I hope the mark didn't show.

"Okay..?" She said more like a question as she walked in with a quite suspicious look.

I walked out and closed the door for her.

I lean against the door breathing heavily as I continued to think about the mark.

Many thoughts covered up my mind. How did it get there? Why? Did the others get one too?

My thoughts stopped as I heard a voice say my name.

"Harmony? You're blocking the way. Excuse me."

I turn around and it was Susie. I was still blocking the doorway.

"Oh. Sorry," I say moving out of her way as she walks out .

She goes in front of me. "Are you okay?"

I quickly look at her and begin stammering. "Um y-yea, why w-wouldn- why wouldn't I be?"

I feel sweat start to perspire as she gives me a more serious look.

She steps closer towards me. "Ya sure?"

I nod and gulp wiping the sweat off my forehead.

"You're sweating. Gross," she says with confusion. "you're lying," she raises an eyebrow.

I look down and try walking away until she grabs my arms turning me around to face her.

"Harmony... tell me-" she stopped as she looked down from my face with an unusual expression. "What's that?" she points her finger.

I furrow my eyebrows looking down at where her finger was pointed at and quickly begin breathing hard as I noticed my hair wasn't covering the mark anymore.

I don't know why I panicked so much. Well, probably because an unknown mark randomly appears on my skin.

She moves her hand closer to the mark trying to touch it but I moved her hand away. "I don't know what it is, but I wouldn't suggest you to touch it either," I say.

"Whatever, it's creepy though, can I at least try healing it? It looks pretty bad. Like a bad tattoo," she says furrowing her eyebrows in frustration.

I gulped. She was right. It was like a bad tattoo. I couldn't quite get what it was. They were symbols but I couldn't understand them.

"Alright. You can try," I say giving her a slight nod.

She nods bringing her hand up to the mark. All of a sudden I feel a burning sensation, as the energy of her healing flows through me.

I groan and try my best holding in my screams.

"Oh my, I'm sorry! " Susie exclaims quickly stopping.

The pain stops and Susie takes a look at the mark.

"Is it better?Is it gone?" I ask.

Her eyes become filled with fear as she shakes her head. "No. i-it's still there."

I quickly walk back into the bathroom taking a look into the mirror.

The mark was still there. No changes.

"What's happening? How is this possible?" I ask Susie.

She shrugs with a worried look.

"What's going on?!" Mags exclaims near us.

I point to the mark as she nears me.

"What the hell?"

"I don't know how this happened," I say .

"You're not the only one," I hear Mags say revealing the mark on the same spot on her body.

I give a shocked look.

How is this possible? On Mags as well? The thing that concerns me the most, why only Mags and I ?

"Only you two?" Susie asks referring to the mark on Mags and I.

"I guess, we need to head to Crystixity," Mags says .

We nod as we begin getting ready.

"It is called the "Dank" symbol," Zorg says as we all sit in the headquarters.

We were all confused. Leo , Naya, and Susie were the ones without the symbol. Mags and I were the only ones with them.

"But why only us?" I ask.

The others just nod in agreement waiting for an answer.

"That's what we need to find out."

"Alright. I can't do this, I got nothing," Naya says shutting a book closed.

We were all sitting in the library concentrating on why we could have these symbols.

"I need some rest," Susie replies putting a book back in the shelf.

We all agree closing our books and putting them away. Turns out reading wasn't a big help.

"We'll see you tomorrow Zorg," Mags says opening the portal back home.

He nods as we exit.
