Racecars zoom pass the screen, people in helmets are seen driving the vehicles. They all had serious expressions underneath, for sure.
"Once a year, these streets... become more than streets. This year the... winner will become... Immortal."
The camera zooms out to show the giant peach trophy, MK, Mei, and I gasp in unison as we stare at the television with sparkling eyes.
"A Peach of Immortality!"
MK squealed, the three of us grinning with happiness until Pigsy said something absolutely jaw dropping.
"Uh, Peach of what now?"
We start yelling at him, ranting about Pigsy not knowing about the Peaches of Immortality.
Tang clears his throat, interrupting us so we'd stop. We all look towards him, confused at him.
"If you'll allow me... Legend says there is a sacred field of trees which grows in the Heavenly Realm, protected by the gods themselves. Every few thousand years, these trees bring forth the Peaches of Immortality. Against the wishes of the Heavenly Host, the Monkey King took them all, making himself immortal."
Pigsy, even after listening to Tang's good explanation seemed to still be confused about something.
"Hold up. I thought Monkey King was already immortal?.."
"Piggy, you're missing the point!"
I blurted out in exasperation, letting out a groan. He and the others slightly surprised at the nickname since I've only called him Pigsy.
I blush in embarrassment at the sight of everyone staring at me, letting out a short, awkward laugh. Pigsy just smiles softly, Mei decides to save me from more embarrassment.
