The meeting went great, I had gotten tired of hearing their voices so I suggested to send a Statement of Financial Position for his perusal and we could maybe reschedule the meeting another day.
After carefully unbuttoning my jacket and draping it gracefully over the back of my chair, I settled into my workspace, surrounded by a mountain of paperwork that awaited my attention for what seemed like an eternity, a daunting task that would consume the next seven hours of my day.
The weight of responsibility hung heavy in the air as I delved into the sea of documents, each one demanding meticulous scrutiny and dedication.
As the clock ticked away, a sudden interruption pierced the quiet focus of my office. The shrill ring of my phone shattered the tranquility, signaling an incoming call from Khajeel.
Irritation flickered across my features as I reluctantly answered the call, raising the phone to my ear, a silent plea for him to get to the point evident in my demeanor.
The seconds stretched out as I waited for him to break the silence.
"Yo, dem a keep one dance a Runaway Bay and dem invite mi but mi nuh feel the vibes fi guh, ya fawud" he said getting to the point.
"Nuh too sure bro but I'll call later" I said hanging up after asking if he needed anything else.
It was now 7:10, signaling the end of another workday, I gathered my essential belongings - my laptop, jacket, and binder - preparing to conclude my tasks and transition into the evening.
With a deliberate motion, I reached over to the air conditioner, silencing its hum, and then proceeded to draw the blinds shut, enveloping the office in a quiet ambiance as the day wound down.
Ensuring I had all I needed, I retrieved my flash drive from its place on the desktop.
Draping my jacket over my arm, a familiar routine before leaving, I took a moment to glance around the now-emptying office, a mix of satisfaction and anticipation for the upcoming respite outside the workplace.
Stepping purposefully towards the company's exit, the lingering echoes of the workday surrounded me as I passed through the doors. The once-bustling workspace now bore the marks of the day's activities, with many colleagues having bid their farewells and departed for the evening.
Amidst the quiet transition, a lone figure remained at the reception desk, a steadfast presence in the dwindling office environment, a silent witness to the ebb and flow of daily work life.

How will I get back to St. Ann at this time of the night.
"When yuh reach home yuh tell mi all wa gwaan, but Mia wonder how yuh ago reach home, wonder if Michelle can Mek yuh stay the night" he questions, more to himself making reference to my aunt.
"But she na expect mi, memba mi nuh get the job yet" I pondered tilting my head. I took my heels off a while back.

Feeling a gentle tap on my shoulder, I turned around to see a lady slightly taller than me, her face adorned with a warm smile that radiated genuine friendliness. "Hii," she waved cheerfully, her demeanor exuding a welcoming vibe that put me at ease instantly.
Whispering to her to give me a minute, I swiftly conclude the call with my father, assuring him of a quick callback whenever I think of something.
"Hello, how may I help you?" I questioned, my voice reflecting a blend of politeness and readiness to assist.
