"C i g a r"The sound of laughter and music faded into the background, replaced by the weight of his words that I came to relay.
"Yo a man check pon German, mi wa know a who Mek the rum" Dutchie, an elder in the web spoke laughing then the rest join.
Sample dem man yer be
As I lean against the wooden table in the backroom of the bar, I can feel the weight of the stares from the men around me. The air is thick with tension, and I sense their anxiety.
They were loyal, but that loyalty was laced with fear, and I understood it well.
"Listen up, mi seh," I began, keeping my voice low but steady. "Di don have a plan fi expand wi territory, but it nah go easy. Wi a move 'gainst di Westside crew, an mi need every one a unuh fi sharp an ready." I watched their faces; some nodded, while others exchanged glances that said a lot.
They had heard the whispers about the Don—a ghostly figure pulling the strings from the shadows. None of them had seen him, but his presence loomed large in every order I passed on.
One Wynter Mon
"Member," I continued, my tone turning serious, "di Don trust wi fi handle dis. Unuh nuh need fi know who him be. Just know say crossin him a death sentence. Keep unuh mouths shut, an wi all a go eat well." As I wrapped up the meeting, I could feel the adrenaline coursing through me.
They filed out, hearts racing, and I couldn't help but smirk. The real power of the Don lay in his mystery. He was always watching, his eyes everywhere, ensuring that the web of loyalty I helped weave remained unbroken.
As I take a smooth puff from my cigar, I feel the confidence wash over me. The smoke curls around me like secrets, creating a moment of calm amidst di chaos of di gang.
Even though the don ain't here physically, his presence is felt in every drag, a reminder of the loyalty and respect we uphold.
When I blow out di smoke, it dances in the air, echoing di battles we've faced together. For me, smoking a cigar with with gang, even in di don's absence, ain't just a habit; it's our way of navigating through life's storms, united in style and poise.
As Skillibeg seh "Dis Craven A gimmi ah mad feeling, but di grenade grade. Wid di grabba leaf send mi guh ah place where gravity nuh exist, mi love stay there."
I chuckle to myself...
As the meeting wrap up, mi couldn't shake di feelin dat the Don was listening, even though he isn't here. His presence always a loom in the shadows, like a ghost watchin every move wi make.
~Di man dem mighta think dem a talkin inna privacy, but mi know di Don have ears everywhere.
"Yuh think say di Don no know what a gwaan?" I wonder to myself. "He is always keeping tabs. Every word, every whisper, every grumble, every mumble down to the crumble, it reach him."
The tension here is thick as though we are in a closed space, and I could see di unease inna di faces of di men. Dem know say di Don nuh play when it come to loyalty.
As the last man slip outta di room, I could feel the weight of the knowledge heavy on my shoulders.
Di Don's watchful eyes, though unseen, kept us all in line, making sure that we don't stray from di path him set. It was like a game of chess, where every move was calculated, and the stakes were high.
I glance around the empty room, feeling the silence wrap around we. "If di Don a listen, him must be pleased," I think.
"We a handle tings di right way." But still, the thought of him watching us from afar, judging our every action, sent a chill down my spine.
Dem man deh dangerous enuh
In dis world, loyalty is everything, and di Don's shadow was a constant reminder of dat fact. Him might not be physically present, but him spirit was felt in every decision we make. And as mi step outta di room, mi couldn't help but feel a sense of urgency. We had to be ready, 'cause in dis game, one wrong move could cost us everything.
"LoyalTy is a luxury that not many can afford."
So trust none....
