It never occurred to Y/n that she would have to exercise. Though now that she thinks about it, it makes a lot of sense that this is one of the trials of the Hunter Exam.

'Fight on! Fight on!' She chanted in her head as her chest heaved up and down and sweat dripped down her face.

They only just stared running and she was already struggling. She tried to push through, remembering the encouraging words the Body Improvement Club always told her.

"You got this, Kageyama!"

"Push! Once more!"

"Don't give up!"

Y/n was slowly losing stamina, her breathing becoming more ragged. 'Fight on! Fight on!' She chanted again.

"Hey, kid!" Leorio's booming voice cut through Y/n's inner thoughts. She tiredly glanced to him, "That's cheating!"

Her e/c eyes trailed to where he was looking. She saw an albino haired boy with blue eyes riding a skateboard. "Huh." He said, an innocent and doe look on his face. "What do you mean?"

"This is an endurance test and you're using a skateboard!" He pointed, a tic mark forming on his head.

"No it's not." Gon piped up. "Mr. Satotz just said to follow him, he never said how."

"Eh!? Gon, whose side are you on!?" Leorio fumed.

Y/n zoned out, trying to distract her mind from her burning lungs and screaming legs. 'Fight... on..!'

"Oi," The albino boy piped up, "Girl, did you hear me?" He asked Y/n, slowing down his skateboard to ride beside her.

"H-Huh..?" She gasped out.

The albino boy blinked and turned to Gon, "What's with her?"

"I guess Y/n-Chan isn't that athletic..." Gon murmured, a little pout on his lips. "Hang in there Y/n-Chan!"

"She's your friend?" The boy murmured.

"Yeah! She's cool! And she's psychic!" Gon cheered. "Cool, right?"

"Yeah..." The boy trailed off before looking back at Y/n. A soft red formed on his pale cheeks and he hugged a little. "Stupid." He grumbled.

The boy kick flipped off the skateboard and then turned to the girl, "Heads up." He said and slid the skateboard over to her. Y/n stumbled a little, but the boy quickly grabbed her arm to help her stabilize on the board. Once Y/n was settled, she started gliding easily on the ground. She took this time to regain her breathing and rest her sore legs.

"Thank you." Y/n said with a ghost of a smile.

The boy hummed, "No problem, I'm Killua. What's your name?"

"Y/n. But my friends call me Mob." She said.

Gon watched the interaction and felt a slight sting in his chest. He didn't know why. Maybe it was because Y/n was his first friend that was close to his age. He huffed a little in frustration at the unfamiliar feeling.
