Chapter14-The man in the shadows

Charlotte-

It had been 2 weeks since Mia had left and i missed her so much. Every night i didnt have my kids i stayed at hers even though she wasnt there. i wore her clothes, put on her perfume and even slept on her side of the bed but it didnt make me miss her any less.

The sister nursery was finally fully staffed at the moment so i am working full time at the knight nursery which i loved. Marjorie, Autumn, Sorscha, Clodagh, winter and Reece were going out for drinks tonight and they had invited me along. i felt awful about going as i was the only person going without there partner. granter they didnt know about me and Mia yet but she was also away which made it much worse. i decided to go anyway as i had nothing better to do really.

After work i went back to Mias and got dressed for the evening i wore one of her tight black dresses as it was the one she wore on our last date and i missed her. i got all dolled up and ubered myself to the bar as i was planning on drinking as it was a friday night. i got there and went straight in and saw everyone sat at a table. We spent a few hours chatting and talking about work. I had had a bit to much to drink and ended up telling everyone i was with mia.

"umm so ive been keeping a secret from all of you and i dont want you to be mad even know youre going to be but i love all of you and i hope you all love me the same way but im dating mia. and i know it might come as a shock to you but i met her before i knew who she really was to you and shes been nothing but nice to me and shes treated me like a princess and shes really trying to change so please dont be cross at me"

i closed by eyes as i didnt want to see the look on everyones faces. everyone was quiet for  a while but Clodagh broke the silence

"i dont know who this Mia person is but if she treats you right thats really all the matters"

she leant over to give me a hug but she bumped into me with her baby bump but i was ok with it because at least someone was happy for me. Sorscha spoke next and also said pretty much the same as Clodagh but the reply i was really nervous for was Marjories.

"look my love i love you too but you know how much i hate mia but i am happy for you however if she does even the tiniest thing to hurt you i will release my guard dog on her and you will not be able to stop me"

"Im in agreement there"

winter said calmly

"Woof"

Aut replied 

"Thank you, all of you but Reece what about you?

Everyone looked over at him waiting for a response

"I SPENT 20 YEARS WITH A LESBIAN"

"REESE"

Marjorie hissed back at him giving him an angry look

"Sorry char i apologise if she makes you happy and treats you right i approve" 

"Thank you all but its getting late so i better go"

everyone smiled and marjorie and clodagh both gave me a hug goodbye everyone else wasnt really huggers but they all gave me a comforting smile so i took that.

I went outside and around the corner and ordered myself an uber while i was waiting i saw a shadow behind me and it frightened me. i turned around quickly and looked at the tall figure standing behind me

"Hello beautiful whats you name "

the figure said. He was tall and wearing all black he looked around late 20s .

"sorry but id rather not say"

"And whys that beautiful"

"Because i dont feel comfortable in this situation thats why"

he grabbed my wrist tightly and slapped me in the face

"you ungreatfull little bitch who do u think you are telling me no"

i was shocked but i couldent get a breath out as he started to drag me away with him by my hair. Luckily Marjorie and Reece had turned the corner just as he was dragging me and Reece shouted

"Oi get the fuck off her now"

the tall figure ran away as Reece chased after him Marjorie managed to catch me as the figure pushed me to the floor.I was curled up on the floor sobbing into her arms a few minutes later reese came back and asked if i was ok and took me and Marjorie to his car. Marjorie asked Reece what had happened and reece had told her he had got away. I was still sobbing in shock and because of the way he had hurt me. Marjorie decided i should go back to hers with Reece as the thought i would feel safer and less alone in reakity she was right but all i wanted was mia. When we got to Marjories house she and Reece helped me inside and onto the sofa as i could hardly walk i had twisted my ankle as i fell and it was extreamly painfull to walk on. Marjorie went into the kitchen to get me a glass of water and to make a phone call. Reece was sat with me on the sofa. I had curled myself up into a ball to try and make myself smaller. Reece respected that i wanted to be alone and kept his distance. When marjorie came back in her and Reece decided i needed a good nights sleep. They said thet would take me to the hospital tomorrow to have me looked at but they decided i was tired enough as it was so i needed to go to bed. They helped me upstairs and into the spare bedroom where i slowly but surely fell asleep.
