━━━━━━ I approached Naruto slowly, trying not to startle him.
The closer I got the more I could hear the little sniffles coming from him. He roughly rubbed his face, but seconds later, more hiccupping breaths came from him.
I looked around to see that this area was kind of overgrown, and not easy to spot from a distance.
I wonder how Hisashi found him. He must've used his byakugan.
"Um," I said, pausing about four feet away. "Naruto?"
His head shot up as he looked around, pretty blue eyes watery as they found me. The sight itself broke my heart.
"I-It's you." He croaked. "The girl."
My heart thudded painfully as tears filled my eyes again. I rushed forward and tackled Naruto to the ground.
He let out a small shout as we landed in the grass.
"What are you-!"
"My name is (Y/n) and I wanna be your friend!" I declared, pointing a thumb at my chest.
I was trying so hard not to cry in the process, but tears still dripped down my face as I faced off with a wide-eye Naruto as he went limp beneath me.
"B-But I don't have f-friends. No one w-wants to be friends w-with me." He whimpered, sniffing hard.
