Y/n's View

Hailee and I got back from dinner pretty late last night so she crashed at my house.

I slowly open my eyes and look around. I get up and open the room door. I walk out and go down the hall.

I walk into the kitchen and see Hailee. Hailee turns around and smiles.

"Good morning." Hailee says.

"Morning." I say as Hailee kisses my cheek.

"I went to the store and got all the stuff I needed to make you breakfast, because we have a long day ahead of us." Hailee says.

"We?" I ask.

"Yeah, I called Austin and asked him if you could have the day off." Hailee says.

"And he said yes?" I ask.

"Yeah." Hailee says.

"Well, shit." I say as she laughs.

"Can you crack those 2 eggs for me?" Hailee asks walking over to the stove.

I nod and wash my hands. I dry them and crack the eggs in a bowl. I see a big shell in the bowl and I try to scoop it out. It breaks in half and I try to scoop it again. It cracks again and I groan.

"What?" She asks, turning around.

"Every time I touch this shell it cracks." I say.

"I'll get it. Flip that omelette please." She says.

I nod and we trade places. I try to flip the omelet with the spatula and it tears.

I stare at it and clinch my fist. I feel my eyes start to water and I sigh.

It's one thing for my curse to fuck things up for myself, but it's another to fuck things up for someone else. It makes me feel 5 times worse.

"You okay?" Hailee asks, walking over.

"I can't do anything right." I say as she places her hand on my back.

I start to cry and Hailee hugs me.

"I'm sorry." I say.

"What're you apologizing for? These things happen. It's fine." Hailee says.

Hailee takes the spatula out of my hand and scrambles the omelet.

"It's the same exact thing. I only tried to make it an omelet because I wanted to make it really fancy for you." She says.

I smile and nod.

"Don't beat yourself up about it too much. Not everything has to be as perfect as you." She says, giving me a pat on the back.

I feel my face heat up and she kisses me.

"You said we had a long day?" I ask.

"Mhm, I wanna spend the whole day together." She says.

I smile and kiss her.

Hailee took me to a bowling alley even though I told her I have bowling alley trauma.

Once when I was a kid, I went bowling with my parents and siblings. Considering we're all cursed, that was a shit show. My brother winded his ball too fast so the ball hit me and broke my nose.

"Turkey!" Hailee says, walking back.

"Got lucky." I say, getting up.

"Yeah, right." Hailee says as the pins pop back up.

I walk to the ball-return and stick my fingers in the holes. I pick the ball up and walk to the line. I line myself up and wind the ball up.

I try to roll the ball and my fingers get stuck. I groan and Hailee furrows her eyebrows.

"What's wrong?!" Hailee asks.

I let go of the ball to reveal my stuck fingers and Hailee widens her eyes. I walk over to Hailee and rest the ball in her lap.

"Ow!" I say as Hailee tries to pull my fingers out.

"Sorry!" Hailee says.

Hailee gently tugs on my finger and I hear cracks. My eyes start to water and I bite my lip.

"Was that..." She asks.

"You just broke my fingers." I say.

"Does it... hurt?" She asks.

"You think?" I ask.

"Sorry." She says.

"Excuse me." She says.

The man one lane over looks up and walks over.

"Can we borrow some polisher?" She asks.

"Yeah." The man says walking away.

"How'd you know he's have that?" I ask.

"He brought his own ball and everything. No casual player does that." Hailee says.

The man walks back over and hands Hailee a bottle.

"Thank you." Hailee says.

He nods and walks away.

"You seem pretty calm." Hailee says pouring a little into each of the three holes.

I stare at her and she chuckles.

She carefully adjusts the ball, which was still resting in her lap, and grabs my hand.

"I can't do it if you're so tense, relax a little." She says.

"Sorry, I'm a little stressed that 3 of my fingers are broken while being stuck in a bowling ball." I say.

"I said sorry!" She says.

I shake my head and she gently wiggles my fingers. I hear her humming and I stare at her.

"Are you humming the lyrics to Sorry by Beyoncé, right after apologizing to me?" I ask.

"That's crazy as hell, I didn't even mean to." Hailee says, laughing.

I laugh and she smiles. She gently pulls my fingers out and I exhale.

"I only did that cause I knew you would laugh and laughing helps with relaxing." Hailee says.

"So now we're lying?" I ask.

Hailee giggles and I smile.

"I'll be right back with your discharge papers." Linda, the nurse, says.

I nod and Linda walks out.

"I feel bad." Hailee says.

"It's fine." I say.

"Let me pay your hospital bill or something." Hailee says.

"I don't want your money." I say.

"But I feel bad." Hailee says.

"Don't - bowling alleys just have it out for me." I say.

She chuckles and nods.

"If you wanna make it up to me so badly, give me a kiss." I say.

She smiles and kisses me.

"Your debt has been forgiven." I say.

She laughs and I smile.
