Drew, Jake, Henry, and Liam are all at a sleepover at Drews house. They are on the bed, and Jake, Liam, and Henry are yapping about something while Drew is on his phone, thinking deep about something... if ykyk 😉
Jake turns his head to face Drew. "Hey Drew, whatcha doing? You've been real quiet." Drew freezes for a moment, then locks his phone and puts it down. "Nothing...just on my phone..." He says, avoiding eye contact. Jake raises an eyebrow and moves closer to Drew. "You sure? Because you looked pretty deep in thought to just be on your phone..." Drew's heart skips a beat as Jake gets closer. He looks away again, trying to avoid looking directly at Jake. "Yeah, I'm sure... just thinking about some stuff, that's all..." Jake studies Drew's face for a moment, noticing the slight blush on his cheeks. He smirks a little. "Uh-huh, sure... care to share what this 'stuff' is that's got you all blushing and avoidant?" Drew's heart is now beating out of his chest. He can feel the heat radiating from Jake's body, and it takes all his willpower not to lean in closer. He takes a deep breath, trying to maintain composure. "I've nothing to say. I've got no idea what you're talking about." He mutters. Jake's expression softens, and he turns his body to face drew completely now. He places a hand on his shoulder, giving it a gentle squeeze. "You can tell me anything, you know that, right? I won't judge or think any differently of you." Drew bites his lip, hesitant for a moment before finally whispering. "I... I have something to confess. Something that I've wanted to tell you for a long time now." He looks up at Jake, his eyes filled with a mixture of nervousness and uncertainty. Jake's smirk turns into a curious smile. "Go ahead, I'm all ears." Drew nods, taking a deep breath again to calm his nerves. He gathers his thoughts for a moment before speaking. "Okay...well, here goes. I... I'm in love... with you. I have been for a while now, and I've been wanting to tell you, but... I couldn't." He looks down, unable to meet Jakes gaze, fearing rejection. The room falls silent except for the sound of their breaths. Jake's heart skips a beat as he hears Drew's confession. He hadn't expected this, but he was also not completely surprised. He had seen the way drew looked at him, the lingering touches, the small smiles. He had just assumed it was wishful thinking on his part. He takes a moment to process everything, then gently lifts Drew's chin, making him look up at him. "Drew... look at me." Jake looks into Drew's eyes, a soft smile on his face. He rubs his thumb gently across Drew's jaw, feeling the faint stubble. "You have no idea how long I've been waiting to hear you say that." Drew's eyes widen in surprise, and a hint of relief washes over him. "...You have? You're not just saying that, are you...?" Jake chuckles softly. "No, I'm not just saying that. Truth is, I've had feelings for you too. I've just been too afraid to say anything, thinking I was reading the signs wrong." A mix of shock and joy spreads across Drew's face. He can hardly believe what he's hearing. "You mean... you've felt the same way this whole time?" Henry, who's been quiet this whole time, finally finds his voice. "Damn, so y'all had feelings for each other for so long, and you didn't even know? You're just two hopeless romantics." he says dramatically. Liam pipes in as well. "Well, I for one am happy you both finally got it out in the open. It was getting exhausting watching you two dance around each other." Drew rolls his eyes. "I guess we were kinda obvious.." He says, blushing slightly. Jake blushes as well, feeling a little embarrassed but also relief. "Yeah, I guess we have. I wish we had talked about it sooner. We could have avoided all this unnecessary pining." Jake reaches out and takes Drew's hand in his, intertwining their fingers. "Better late than never though, right? We can't change the past, but we can make sure we don't waste any more time."
