Time seemed to fly by so fast without you, Ren. I miss you. No matter how hard I try to focus on life, my thoughts drift back to you and our memories together.

Savil sighed, leaning back in his chair. Already 18.. And he has changed so much. Like switching the system from royalty to a council rule.

He sat at the top of the council, despite his age, due to his parents passing. It was tragic, but he has come to terms with it.

But why can't I come to terms with how I lost you? It hurts so much..

"Savil, please pay attention. I asked you a question.." Mrs. Hashley spoke, breaking into his thoughts. His eyes widened, as he sat straight.

He sighed, cursing at himself mentally. "Right.. sorry. The answers 72." She eyed him as he answered, before nodding approvingly.

I sat back in my chair, relieved. Then my mind drifted again..

Was it the right decision to move locations, to avoid vampires finding their location again? He hoped so.. it was nice where they lived now.

Though he hoped it would be enough to keep them safe for a while.. especially with the state they're all in.

Savil sighed, walking down the path. Chatting filled the air, as the villagers went about their days. They all seemed so cheerful..

It made me feel happy, knowing I can ensure they all feel well. As, that means my time in charge hasn't been wasted.. not an ounce of it!

A smile crept over his face as he passed by the new park, seeing kids playing cheerfully. It reminded him of the old times..

He chuckled, pushing his way into a tent. "Kimono! I brought snacks.. I know you've been focused on work a lot lately." He sat down on the mat next to her, seeing the papers in her hands.

Savil set the box of food down, peeking at the writing. She noticed, lifting the papers to her chest protectively. "H-hey! Don't do that.. this is top secret." Kimono huffed, then stuffed them into her bag.

"Yea, yea.. anyways, is it going well?" He leaned back, criss-crossing his legs. She nodded, and began to dig into the food he had brought. "That's good to hear!"

She smiled up at him, making his heart.. flutter. He looked away, covering his face as she giggled. Why did he feel this way?..

I remained quiet for a moment before speaking again. "Right.. anyways.. there is a serious matter that has been brought to my attention." My face turned stern, as I looked back at her.

Took a deep breath, then continued. "There has been reports of deaths happening. Each victim has been found with a vampire bite."

He watched as her gaze darkened. She shifted a bit, speaking in a low tone. "So they found us, huh? To think we were finally safe." Savil tilted his head, thinking. She was very much correct..

After all the work they went through to ensure the peoples safety, it still wasn't enough. "And to make the situation worse.. the Princess has requested a meeting with me."

Kimono froze, eyes drifting to me. "She what?!" I chuckled at her shocked tone. Then spoke in a annoyed tone. "Yea. I can't deny it, but all I can do is hope it goes good."

She shook her head, and went back to eating. They remained quiet, before he spoke again in a quiet tone. "Ki, is there anyone you care for more than anything?" Kimono finished her food, thoughtfully thinking.

"That would be you, Savil. I've spent my whole life caring for you, afterall." He thought it over, holding back a sigh. So conflicted..

Was she someone he cared for dearly? Or just someone he was using like a form of pawn to get what he needed..

He sat at the meeting table, looking up as the door swung open. "Princess Vaziumae.. still as pink as ever." Savil said sarcastically.

The vampire sat across from him, a small smile on her face. She seemed more dresses up than usual..

"What's with the outfit? I didn't expect you yo dress so formally for a small meeting.." He spoke with a hint of confusion, but only got a shrug in response.

I stared into her pink eyes.. there was no doubt she had something up her sleeve. But what?

He cleared his throat, before speaking again in a serious tone. "Now, what is it you wanted to speak about?" She looked away, her smile fading. "About the vampire attacks, as you've probably noticed.."

Savil tensed. So they were planned? He should have expected that.. It was extremely obvious anyways.

"I've learned that my brother's behind it.. and he plans to only continue." She spoke softly, almost.. comfortingly. "I tried to convince him, but it's too hard to get through that dumb head of his."

He tensed up. So Prince Corlio was behind this? How unshocking.. that man had some serious problems. It was hard to imagine him not doing something like this.

Savil remained quiet for a moment, thinking. "Is that a form of you telling me to prepare myself? Do you think he's going to get worse and attack with a 'army'?"

Vaziumae looked away. "Yes. I'm not sure exactly why he wishes to do so.. but it must be the only reason behind all his attacks." She looked back up at him, a serious look in her eyes.

"It's up to your people to defeat him. Thats the only way to ensure peace between our kind!"  She cried, with a tone that pleaded with him.

I gritted my teeth, furrowing my eyebrows. Was she joking? Peace? That damn bitch better be joking!

He shook his head. "After all your kind has done? Theres no peace option anymore. I can't promise anything, either.. your kind is hella strong."

The Princess looked shocked by his response, but accepted it. "I suppose you're right.. our actions have been very horrible." She looked away, expression a sign of defeat.

"Is that all? I don't have much more patience to hear you speak more." I looked straight into her eyes, and she rose to her feet.

Princess Vaziumae shook her head, gliding elegantly past the chair and hovering her hand over the doorknob.

Then she froze, and spoke in a low tone. "Also, Savil.. Your dear Ren.." His eyes shot open, as he shot to his feet. What? She..

"He's still alive." Then she pushed the door opened and left him standing there.

Savil collapsed into his chair, eyes still wide. That can't be possible.. how could he still be alive? His mind raced. There was no way that they didn't kill him!

She must be messing with him.. that could be the only option. Damn her!
