part 6

Chapter 12: BROOKE

I walked back to studio A with a smile on my face, and I knew the only reason it was there was because of Tyler.  I almost hated how he could change my mood so easily, in a way that nobody has ever been able to.

I ran through my routine a few more times before I headed back to the den.  I had about 15 minutes before I had rehearsals with the elite team.  When I entered the den I instantly turned red.  Payton, Riley, and Katherine were all sitting in there, practically waiting on the edge of their seat for me to walk in.

“Don’t even say it guys.” I said smiling, still bright red

They all burst into laughter as I grabbed my water bottle.

“I wouldn’t of even believed it if I hadn’t of seen it myself.” Payton said

“Me either” Katherine joined in

“I have no idea what you guys are talking about.” I responded with a smirk on my face

“oh come on Brooke,” Riley said, “I have never seen you go into one of those moods and be able to leave the studio like it never happened.”

“Well…” I said, turning red again, “I guess I just snapped out of it.”

“No,” Payton said, grinning at me, “Tyler snapped you out of it.”

“Shut up!” I said, giggling

“No really I’m happy for you” Payton said

“Yeah,” Riley chimed in, “you really must love that boy.”

This sent them all into another round of laughter.

All I could do was smile back at them and do my best not to turn red because they were right.  I loved him.  I was in love with him.  And I think if it were anyone else who had come to talk to me, I would be even more pissed off now. 

I walked into rehearsals seconds before Abby.  We hadn’t started learning our group routine yet, so Abby motioned for all of us to gather around.

“Girls before we start warming up I want to talk about the group dance. I have a little surprise for all of you in honor of nationals…” she said, looking right at me, “Since he did such a wonderful job performing with you girls before, I’ve decided to put Tyler in the routine.”

Before I could even process what Abby said, all of the girls began screaming so loud I literally had to cover my ears.  Before any of them could calm down Tyler walked through the door and all of them actually managed to tackle him to the ground they were so excited.  Even Abby started to laugh.  When they finally let him stand up and stopped screaming I ran over and jumped in his arms.  He quickly twirled me around and then set me back on my feet.

“Why didn’t you tell me?!” I asked, beaming up at him

“You know I love surprises.” He answered with a smirk

“you know I hate surprises…” I quickly said back  

He just looked down at me and started laughing before leaning down a giving me a quick kiss on the cheek.

“Alright,” Abby said, trying to settle everyone down, “so obviously Brooke and Tyler will be featured in the group dance.  It’s about finding your first true love, so I really need the emotion from you two.  Also, since the two of you dance so beautifully together, I’ve entered a duet.  So you’ll have a lot of work to do this week, don’t let him distract you Brooke.”

Abby flashed a smile and winked at me, causing my face to turn red.  I couldn’t believe Tyler was dancing with us again, and I couldn’t believe Abby gave us two numbers for nationals!  I looked over to Tyler and found him smiling down at me.  This made me blush a little more.
