CHAPTER 18: Brooke

“That was so good.” I said, still trying to catch my breath as Tyler finally came to a stop in an empty hallway.

He had taken my hand backstage after we exited the stage and didn’t stop until we were alone.

“I love you.” He said a little shakily, but managed to flash a smile at me before he wrapped his arms tightly around my waist.  He leaned down and pressed his lips to mine.

“I love you too,” I said laughing a little after I pulled away, Tyler barely let me finish before kissing me again. What was going on with him?

He had leaned me up against the wall and I couldn’t help but fall into his arms a little bit.

“Babe.” I said giggling in-between kisses and moving my hands to his chest trying to break free for some air

“No I mean I really love you.” Tyler said smiling, taking my face gently in his hands, “In the forever kind of way.  I knew it the second I saw you in studio B running that dance with the senior company.”

“Oh okay Mr. prince charming,” I giggled, somehow managing to cover up the sudden urge I had to kiss Tyler, “I don’t believe you.”

Where was this entire thing coming from? Was he just brining this up because of the dance?  Whatever it was my heart was racing as I looked up at Tyler, who had that cute smirk on his face. God I hated it when he did that, I could hardly look at him without turning red.

“Oh really, you don’t?”  He said leaning in, still smirking as he put his forehead to mine.  I could feel his cool breath on my lips, “You guys were rehearsing ‘Save you Tonight’ that week, and I’m pretty sure you were wearing that old, ratty black leotard that has the holes in the one side.  Everyone was doing the same choreography, but for some reason I could only see you.  I know it sounds stupid but I just couldn’t take my eyes off of you.  You had this beauty and this grace wherever you moved, no matter how difficult the routine got, or what you had to do all of it looked effortless.  And you didn’t even realize how special you were, and I just knew.”

I looked up at Tyler’s breathtaking smile and couldn’t think of anything I could say in response to that.

“Aw baby.” I said smiling as I put my hand on his cheek, “I cant believe you remember that! I don’t even remember that.”

“Of course I do,” He said with a smirk, “How could I forget the first time I saw Brooke Hyland.”

“That’s very true” I said smirking and tilting my head up so Tyler would lean down and kiss me

After he pulled back Tyler shifted his weight so he was looking down at me.  He lifted my chin up with his index finger and leaned down to kiss me again.  I tightened my arms around him and leaned into his chest.  He pulled back but kept his finger under my chin and his face close to mine.

“Just you and me.” He said grinning, “Always.”

I leaned up to kiss him again not being able to hold back my smile.  A few moments later I heard some voices down the hall and pulled back.  It sounded like a few other dancers.

“We should probably go…” I said looking up at Tyler

“Probably.” He said smirking, kissing me again quickly and putting his arm around me before we started walking towards the dressing room.

We reached the dressing room and all four girls sprang up from their chairs.

“Brookie! Tyler!” Mackenzie yelled running towards us
