"Huh," I said, noticing something unfamiliar on my nightstand.
"What is it, Aeth?" Xiao asked, peeking over my shoulder.
"This letter wasn't on my nightstand last night," I replied, holding up the black envelope for Xiao to see, the starry blue stamp glittering in the light pouring in from the Liyue-style window.
"Don't open it! There's a high concentration of abyssal energy."
Abyssal energy? Does my sister have something to do with this?
I expressed my thoughts to Xiao.
"It's possible," Xiao said, putting on bits of his armour.
"Maybe I could find Dain. He'd know what's up with this letter. Hopefully."
"Dain?"
"Dainsleif. He, um,-"
"Right. Dainsleif, the bough keeper."
I nodded, pulling on my scarf and slipping into my shoes.
"See you tonight," Xiao said, placing a kiss on my head. "And... " He paused; something was clearly on his mind.
"What is it, hon?" I asked tilting my head to the left, my braid falling to the side.
"Can you promise me you won't open the envelope? I just have a bad feeling about it."
